hi. i just purchased a 240sx like the other day and the first thing that i want to change are the shocks and springs. i have about 700 dollars to spend and i was wondering who makes shocks for the s14 cause i know kyb doesnt make the agx for the car. what do you guys think for tokico? my friend had some on his car and he said that they were too soft. what kind of shocks and springs are you guys using and how much did you spend for them? thanks for the help.

Hey, West. I need some info on this too. What should I get for shocks and springs? I have 17s with 205-40-17 tires, so I wanna fill up the wheelwells, but not cause my car to bottom out. Price isn't an issue. I'm open to anything except coilovers....
Maybe a 1.5 inch drop?
Thoughts?

If you have some extra $300 go to http://www.Enjukuracing.com and buy the Apexi WS Coilovers. For the price its worth it to get these over a spring/shock combo. Although I still dont know how stiff they are. Apexi is good at not telling anyone anything.

Otherwise GAB makes some good shox for our car that will work very well with aftermarket springs. They are adjustable as well. http://www.Shox.com has them. If I had to get shox these would be my choice.

Tien also makes very good shox for the 240SX. Although a little more pricey they are very good quality. For the $ GAB is my choice. http://www.teinusa.com for info, I have no idea who sells them

Also, see what whiteline has to offer. They make excellent stuff for the 240sx. Although I wouldnt buy their springs. You can get there stuff @ [url]http://www.mofugas.com[/url

If I were to get springs for my s14 I would probly get the Eibach Prokit (or something simular). As this is nowhere near how stiff I like my ride but there are not many options available for springs and 240SX and that is why I would spend the extra $ for the Apexi Coilovers. Just make sure and find out what spring rate they are. I would like to know because my old 5Zigen springs were about 290/lbs, that's about 30% stiffer than the ProKit's. And to me they weren't too stiff. Now that I have my HKS Hyper Dampner II Coilovers I know what stiff means (700/lbs soring)... and I love it! (I'm the only one though)

The Apexi coilovers are sold with no upper mounts... Do I need these? I went to a few other sites, and they list N-1 DAMPER SYSTEM 2000 Spec - 1995-1998 Nissan 240SX (New springs & Pillow mounts) for $2200.

Any idea why there is such a $$ diff.?

Come to think of it, coilovers would be nice cause I need to be able to raise my car when going into my garage, otherwise my bumper will hit

You dont need the N1 Spec unless you want some serious coilovers. They come in two specs and cost about $1500 from http://www.i-m-racing.com. Type S models ( height adjustment, helper spring) and Type R models ( 13 way ride adjust, height adjust.) Pillow upper mounts optional. This is for the Nicer model. I think the WS models are adjustible but not as much as the N1 model. Find out from Shawn @ Enjuku Racing.

You wont need the pillow mounts. If you look at the picture of my coilovers the top of the coilover is a purple plate that mounts to the body of your car, it just allows for more driver feedback.
