I'm having problems with my driving lights at night, they just seem soo dim, so I'm considering getting an HID conversion. But I see so many different brands out there rite now (Phillips, Hella, Vision etc.) with so many different wattage (5500k. 6000k 7000k etc.). Does the brand actually matter? Whats the difference with the wattage? Whats the proper price range? And most important is...what type of bulb do I use? I have a '97 240SX (Just got the car...sorry lol)

Awesome!! I gotta 97 as well. . Supposedly the HID is very nice due to the projector headlights.  T.Y. (Ryan) Yap  Did the conversion, so I figured I could learn from him. . the cutoff is supposedly very sharp now, with some glare, but not a whole lot (glare = stray light). . remember, the projector lense isn't meant for HID, but it'll do the job just fine, and without blinding oncoming traffic!! Best of all, in an S14 you have seperate high beams so you won't have to sacrifice that. .

Our bulb is an H1 for low beam. .  Every place you go to will say it's an H4, so don't ask the autoparts store!!

H1 looks like an H3 foglight bulb, only with a longer base... tiny little bulb hehe. .
