BMC Replacement Option

Has anyone tried BMC from Sanyco ??? My BMC just gave in so its time to replace.

New from Nissan costs $260 and Sanyco is $80 (Not remanufactured)..

Part# 4601092G01

When mine went bad, I ordered a 17/16 300zx through rock auto for like 140. When it arrived, it was a nabco and had the 3rd fitting already in it. Definitely a good option if your considering upgrading calipers in the near future.

Some advice: when you replace, use the OEM reservoir tank. The off brand ones are famous for leaking

Thanks for your input but you didn't answer my question.

First of all, if you look up that part #, it's 1" bore BMC.

Then you will notice the fittings are on different side because it's not for LHD vehicle. Therefore I cannot use Z32 ones you find online.

Just clarify, it's. It not necessarily the reservoir that causes leak on aftermarket or re-manufactured BMC. It's combination of reservoir and rubber bushings sitting on BMC a to hold reservoir.

That's why I prefer to have OEM BMC not remanufactured or aftermarket BMC.
And that's why I post this thread about asking people for their experience with
Sanyco brand.

Update this thread if you get the Sanyco. Probably switch brake setup to Evo fronts when I switch to 5 lug on my 180sx.

Whether is 17/16 or 1", the pedal feels great. Its on the same side because I installed it on OEM hardlines in my S13. You have to change the reservior on the cardone and centric because it leaks from the lid during hard driving, not the lower rubber gasket. Cardone BMCs are made in Italy, OEM are from Japan, Sanyco and Centrix are both made in Taiwan (basically the same unit). That should tell you all you need to know about which to purchase.

Look up reviews of the centrix BMC and you'll get the answers you want. If you don't like reman units or aftermarket, why bother with this thread? Just buy a used bm-57 or bm-50 and be done with it.

No wonder nobody helps each other on this forum.

I think there is some confusion here.

It's not for S chassis.

I didn't say the fittings are on different size for you as far as Z32 BMC on S chassis. I told you to look up the part number I posted then you would've realize the fittings are on opposite side because again, it's not for S chassis.

You mention about upgrading to 17/16" which is great, but only 16/17" available is BNR32 N1 BMC for me which it's not necessary for me coming from 1" bore BMC.

I didn't know Sanyco and Centrix are the same unit, thanks for that info if that's true.

No wonder nobody helps each other on this forum.

Worthless help is not needed. Especially when someone is not even answering to a question that was asked.

Why bother mentioning used BM50 and BM57 when it's not even part of the option...

I find issues on Re-manufactured BMC from Centric not new ones...

I saw the RB tag and figured RB swapped s chassis. Sorry about that. Have you considered getting a rebuild kit for your original BMC? You can shim the prop valve and make the bias perfect at the same time, kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

I thought about it.... think it costs around $60 from Nissan. Never done that before but doesn't seem too difficult..

As far as shimming goes, how does that work with ABS? my car has one...

S14s have an external prop valve as I understand it. I'd replace it for an adjustable one if you've modified your brakes personally.

Ended up ordering a new BMC from FontanaNissan.

BNR34 one though. So it's 17/16"

Gotcha, it's probablh internal. You can shim it up with washers and change the split point. There's info on NRR.

I am going to take the old one apart and rebuild it.. We will see about shimming..
