SOHC-DOHC cluster conversion
has anyone done the SOHC gauge cluster conversion so that the cluster reads DOHC tach? i want to make sure it works and pictures would be a plus... its detailed in this link http://www.nicoclub.com/articles.php?id=272023

Conversion?
Remove SOHC cluster. Install DOHC cluster. There's nothing else to it.

you need to solder a couple wires to back of cluster...on a couple of pins...I read it on a diff forum, that has info and not just neg rep. good luck. either way. the easiest is forsure swap out for a dohc tach...cheapest is solder. |

reviving this thread from the dead...but i need to know how to directly wire the tach to the ignition coil...or distributor.
if anyone can help me out that would be great!!! |

I have done the swap. I have a bunch of SOHC digital clusters so I ran a tach driver wire to the cluster and it works perfect.
I did a write up on it , but it is in the preemie section. This is the one I tested as the positive. |
