s14 For Sale Original Owner 96 S14 Survivor Car

Up for sale is my wife's 1996 S14. She purchased it brand new on March 3rd, 1997 at Suntrup Nissan in St. Louis, Missouri. Car is an SE with optional moonroof and factory rear spoiler. Attached you can see the original paperwork when she purchased the car as well as the original window sticker. Car has pretty much been a daily driver all its life.

Pros:
One owner car; non-smoker
157K miles
Original motor; never cracked open and still runs strong
Original 5 speed transmission
Original hoses (see pic), accessory belt, radiator cap (see pic), etc.
Original starter
Original alternator
Original clutch
Original exhaust
A/C still blows ice cold after 24 years; never has been recharged
Underside of car is very clean (see pics)
Dash not cracked
Interior in great condition; no rips or tears in seats

Cons:
Drivers' side fender and door have been replaced off another paint code FCN S14 (dude sideswiped me about 15 years ago and I just pocketed the insurance money and replaced the door & fender myself).
Small rust spot behind driver's side wheel (can easily be cut out or covered with a body kit)
Fenders and hood are slightly dinged up but (I would just replace with fiberglass fenders and hood)

Here is what has been replaced on the car:
thermostat
battery
brake pads
discs
right rear caliper
temperature control card
plug wires
distributor cap

Bottomline is this car has excellent bones! Pretty much an unmolested blank canvass to build the S14 of your dreams with instead of buying someones else's headaches. We've probably had 20 notes left on the car over the years from folks wanting to purchase it. We've kept this car because it just runs, runs and runs.

Car is located in Washington D.C. You can drive it anywhere just bring your own plates. Not too many of these cars left; especially that haven't already been hacked up...

I bought my one-owner, wife owned, green, non-ABS, 5-speed 1997 from Missouri a few years back! It was the wife of a pilot that had bought it brand new from Florida.

It's nice to see another un-molested 1997 come out of, of all places, Missouri. I miss mine dearly.

/End sob story

Hello,
I am sure you have heard about Bring A Trailer. If you feel like Zilvia is not panning out, I would recommend an engine bay detailing and investing in a photo shoot. This kind of car is cat nip for those people. Glws!

Sakekura is right on the point here. A couple hundred for an all around detail and some well lit photos will do wonders for you, then you can toss it up on Bringatrailer.com and you should be able to reach a crowd with deeper wallets.

Nice car and GLWS

Thank you for your opinion! It?s a 25 year old survivor car. Not too many of these left that are unmolested not to mention an original manual car. Some folks are even converting automatic S14s to manual; can you believe it!

Ultimately the market will dictate what the car is worth. Worst case I?ll put the car in storage for 5-10 years and wait for the ?drift tax? to increase higher as S14 supply continues to decline...

literally just gonna copy and paste what I said about the kouki that was posted.

"As pointed out the last part of the ad broke my heart. This will get sold for sure but you're gonna have to find the right buyer and I'm not sure that is gonna be here, gonna have to drop that price $2500 minimum for that to happen"

What are people doing to repair strut tower rot these days?

I expect this to be more and more prevalent in these cars, unfortunately.

OP, don’t listen to people saying “OMG rust” as an excuse to get you to lower your price even more.. yours doesn’t appear to have a crazy rust problem. Rust is becoming more of a reality with these cars unfortunately and instead of throwing the car away because of it, take on the challenge of repairing it and bringing it back to life. Obviously I don’t mean a chassis that’s a complete rust bucket

Aside from that the car seems like a solid straight body s14 with nice interior

I can't comment on price, but the rust IS pretty bad in some areas, like on the rear quarter panels. Thats not surface rust. Thats rust bubbles that will need to be cut out and replaced with new metal. These repairs and all the seized bolts you will run into will nickle and dime you and you'll wish you started with a completely rust free chassis. The interior is clean which is worth some coin, but the chassis does need some rather extensive body work in some areas.

Spooled240, thank you for your input but you clearly are speaking beyond your level of competence. I clearly mention and show there is one rust spot on the rear quarter panel; not quarter panels as you mention. Also a quarter panel is not considered part of the chassis. Look at the pictures of the subframe again; it is solid.

Mafia6 thank you for your post! There are a lot of keyboard commandos out there that are self proclaimed experts but really have little to no knowledge or skill working on cars. These are the type folks that should stick to cars that have warranties.

You are absolutely right, there are not too many of these cars left since they are 25ish years old...

The quarter panel is literally a structural part, there is no place where it ends or the "frame" begins, it's a unibody car. Maybe someone your age could understand it as a jeep tub with no frame, and the suspension mounted to the tub, which gets it's strength from it's shape as a permanent, rigid hull.

Some types of folks don't have a clue how little cars have been built for like 75 years - these folks should probably stick to splash lubricated babbit bearing engines.

I don't know how you found someone as gracious as spooled, to talk to with such hubris.

Not that bad - but time to be restored, or move onto the next phase of it's life - it's a survivor in that it's all there, but it's not a pristine survivor, it's just a car that didn't get wrecked or ruined. It's worn out.

I'm not being mean about that, I'm just pointing out that he's kind of a rude asshole, to come in selling a car which he knows nothing about, and insult people who know such basic things as the quarter panel is part of the car. If it's not part of the chassis, what the fuck is he selling? A cut-it-up and piece it together 5 color 500 dollar kid car starting point? Good bones, just needs a hip transplant?

If total garbage is worth that much, so be it, i've been on the side of inflation and complaining about people throwing away cars that are repairable, for years It's the ignorant arrogance that bothered me, not the price or condition.

MechanicalMoron, not sure why you take things so personally? In my original description of the car I clearly mention the small section of rust on one rear quarter panel. I also clearly indicate that it needs to be cut out or have a body kit placed over it (depending upon what someone wants to do with the car). Then spoiled240 jumps online and mentions severe rust on both quarters ( which is not true) and the rust will need to be cut out to be repaired properly (which again is what I clearly stated in my initial description of the car). He then talks about seized bolts ?nickel and dining? which is not true for the average enthusiast. But getting back to the metal that may need to be replaced on my car is a 2 inch by 4 inch section; hardly what I would consider ?chassis needing some rather extensive body work.?

Again, if I came off as arrogant I apologize but it?s frustrating when people post half cocked without reading my original description of the car or providing an assessment of the car based upon their own skill level that may not be representative of the average enthusiast; look at FrankFactor?s or Mafia6?s posts (and I don?t even know them).

If your ever in D.C. hit me up and I?ll buy you a beer! Same offer to you spooled240. I?m not here to make enemies. Just trying to be part of a group where we all have one thing in common; we love Nismo?s. Let?s save our anger/aggression for the non-Nismo types... Peace!!!
