Does your tailights turn on when the parking lights are on? If not, you got a blown fuse. My old kouki had a short on the power wire going into the cluster. It kept blowing the fuse on the kick panel. Short was after the fuse so I just snipped the wire in the back and run another 12v source to it from behind the cluster. Had it like that for years and didnt have any issues.

PS: If the car is drivable and you need an extra set of eyes on it, I'm out in Hampton...I can take a look at it and see...

I have the same problem in my 95 se, everything electrical works great except my cluster. the lights on it workgreat.

Actually when I installed my power steering the other day funky shit was happening, like my oil light air bag light and brake light came on. idk wwhat was goin on, it's been off now. that's the only time i ever saw them. If I wiggled the ps lines under motor by oil pan, myfuel pump would kick on. figured it wasgrounding, added ground.. never saw lights again?

ill check my brake light with the running lights on, i did notice today that the power locks dont work, all the fuse are good engine bay and kick panel and no its not driveable I think my ecu is bad cause i hooked it up to a scan tool today and it wouldnt connect and wouldnt read codes so now im wondering if my ecu is the cause of all this 240 evil but my check engine light comes on if i turn the adjustment screw on the side of the ecu. if it does start it struggles to stay running, so idk what the deal is thanks for the reply

if you do decide to get your harness redone I suggest carismallc in orlando FL. They did my harness for my first RB swap. They were way cheaper than wiring specialties. Just trying to save you some pennies man.

You got an SR swap on your S14, doubt the scanner port is hooked up. Are you trying to pull the codes out of the ECU? Put the IGN to On (don't start the car) then turn the screw on the ECU to fully clockwise, hold it there for a second or two, then back counter clock wise. Check engine light should start blinking. Count the long blinks and the short ones. Long ones are your 1st digit and the short ones are your 2nd digit. 3 long blinks and 2 short ones = 32.

So you're in the middle of a swap or was this running before? Think the gauges is the least of your worries if the car isnt running. If you need help, PM me Saturday and I might be willing to check it out if you want another set of eyes on it...

thanks man, yea i did the swap my self checked everything the history of the swap i bought the car from a guy that had a blown ka in it and wanted to do a sr swap bought one from japan never put it in. Let it sit for a couple months then sold it the motor was still metal strapped to the crate when i got it just need a new turbo do to corrsion. Everything else was in good shape the car did run ive driven it around the block like 3times. It would run good idle a little funny but any hard throttle it would fall to pieces then it just got werid. I put a new harness in it just to elimate any problem with the main wiring it started up fine after day and a half of a full charge on the battery. Idled high but good and reved up fine, after a minute it slowly starts running worse and worse then cut off and now it wont start again, just really shakey cranks.
