true and ive heard they dont rattle at all. although looking into why any shiftier rattles i noticed that the shifter on many isnt solid and is actually in two pieces meaning with a little bit of work you can stop the rattling.

Me and you both. I just ordered one for a steal from GT-R garage [half of what everyone on Zilvia likes to sell with drift tax included] and it looks brand new. I also ordered the brass bushing that CS makes via FRSport. I cannot wait to throw this thing in. From all the reviews people are throwing up, this should be the kill shot setup.

My b&m broke on me after about a good year and a half. Maybe because i had one of those dildo shift knobs on and shifted a little too hard. Now i gotta re-thread the top. Hate the stock shifter now.

What do you guys think about eBay short shifters? The ones with the plate and is a direct copy of B&M?

Some are really affordable and if the shifter is comprised of only a few moving parts, it should be good right? Just change the bushing to Cusco and it should be ok I suppose.

I tried an ISIS short shifter in my S13 for a while but the rattling drove me crazy. Now I'm running a modified stock shifter. I shortened it up 1.5" and added some additional angle to it, essentially moving it closer to the driver while reducing shifter travel. It doesn't feel as crisp as the ISIS but at least it doesn't rattle.

I posted earlier in this thread after I first made the custom short throw shifter for a 510 with SR swap. Now I have 5-6 of these in 510's with SR or KA swaps. Like nothing offered on the market...not even the 5.0 pro can compare.

It looks good, however it functions way better than it looks! (100% billet, CNC machined, bearing design, best hardware that can be bought. It won't break....ever!) I have 4-5 ready to be assembled for shipment now, if people are interested. I will also have about 8 more ready in 2 weeks. I have 2 styles, one like the pictures above with stock SR style thread and taper so you can install any knob you currently have on your SR/KA/VQ (any C series Nissan trans). Or I have the one with the billet knob, which has a different thread and cannot be used with any other knob unless you make a custom adapter.

Not a short shifter, but this thing is the best. It is comparable to using a Shake Weight as a shifter.

There are 2 versions. One is like the picture above which has the stock SR thread and taper. That one sells for $410 which includes tax and insured shipping within the 48 states. If you live in another location, I will still ship it to you, it just costs more.

The other version which has a different thread pitch and step design specific to a custom billet knob (picture below) is a little bit more at $445 which includes tax and insured shipping within the 48 states.

It is hard to tell from the photos, how is the shifter opening sealed? It looks like you replace all the OEM shifter components including all the boots and paper seal, along with the pivot parts.

Looks pretty sweet though.

EDIT: I swear that picture ^^ wasn't there when I posted. HAha.

besides talking about short shifters. anyone got any info on making a shifter feel more solid. i have a old megan short shifter. i already have the solid shifter bushing and the two springs on each side of the trans replaced with harder ones. but is there anything else i can do to stiffen the shifter handle up. it still moves a decent amount when its in a gear.

I have driven cars with Megan, nismo and b&m short shifters the b&m one is nice but I feel like its over priced I actually just installed the circuit sport v3 short shifter it comes with the solid bushing install was a breeze and I love it no rattling very tight and smooth it doesn't reduce the height of the shifter but I personally prefer it over the others and its half the price just my 2cents

running a Z1 motorsports shifter on my VH45.

on my old s13's, i always ran the knock off c's style shifter with a OEM bushing. for years i never had a problem, and never had any rattles at any rpm.

dont know why people waste money on B&M's.

Best Short Shifter I've felt to date.

I've felt quiet a few Nismo, C's, B&M, ISIS, Megan, Circuit Sport

I need some pictures of a B&M shifter. I need to know if I have all of the right pieces so I can do my trans swap.

Any volunteers?

I also have a Tomei short shift on my SR, VERY precise even with OEM bushing, great mechanical feel when putting into gear.. and no rattles at any RPM/speed.
