Never Had any problem with any of my Garret turbo's. I'm not saying that just because I haven't, that this is BS, but just my take on it.

I just don't believe this one bit. Matter of fact I'm ordering an S15 turbo this week.

glad i sold my caterpillar...

I will say this. My 28rs has been through hell and hasn't failed me yet. I'm pretty sure that most ppl would agree that what Garrett has been putting out works fine, regardless of where it came from. I will research this matter further and if its has any truth to it, I will most likely not purchase from Garrett again..

this won't change my opinion of them.

i've never ran into a bad garrett gt series turbo that wasn't the installer's fault, and the few that i have seen go bad because of that still are 90% less than properly installed wannabe garretts.

so i'm gonna trump heresay with experience and keep on giving garrett and precision my business.

i personally have NEVER had a problem with em and they've always performed better than any other comparable companies turbos.

even better than turbonetics. now what i love about turbonetics is, they make a good product and if you have a problem with theirs they don't give you any crap, they send you a replacement. their customer service is awesome.

my .02

Dave

wiki says Cliff Garrett died in 1963. So brown bagging it and etc, don't mean shit. The man died 47years ago.
heres the wiki for garret/aireasearch Garrett AiResearch - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
its not their first merger. Merger means new. NEW, things change. Names may stay the same, but things will change.

The last merger was in 1999, 10-11 frigging years ago. How many turbos that we(zilvian's) typically run that are that old? maybe stock turbos, but not much else.

If it was not for china turbos... where would cx racing/etc be without them? and our 600dollar gt35's?

Quoted for the truth.
Quote:
Garrett Engine Boosting Systems originated from the Gas Turbine division of Garrett AiResearch. In 1954, the AiResearch Industrial Division was established in Phoenix, Arizona for turbocharger design and manufacturing.[1] The AiResearch Industrial Division would later be renamed Garrett Automotive.

In 1964, after a merger with Signal Oil, Garrett became part of Signal Companies.[2] In the mid-1980s, Signal merged with Allied Chemical & Dye, and became AlliedSignal, an automotive, aerospace and engineering company. AlliedSignal merged with Honeywell in 1999, where the turbocharger business was known as Garrett Engine Boosting Systems. Renamed Honeywell Turbo Technologies in 2004, the Garrett name has been retained as a product brand name for aftermarket.[3]

To prove performance and durability, the Garrett brand competes in numerous motorsport series. The company also supports auto racing around the world including sports car racing, drag racing, rally racing, and open-wheel racing.
The plant on 190th will remain and the Lomita Blvd. plant is being moved to the 190th location.

I was just in an argument on here with some moron about this like 2 weeks ago. I try to explain to these people that if you type in long, runon setences with incorrect spelling and grammar, no one will take you seriously.

....but he refused to listen

I think someone got mad because his benefits got taken away(not too uncommon in this economy) and tried to get back at the company by writing this letter/post

Yeah if you Google "Garrett Lawsuit" the first thing that pops up is some class action about pensions.

I was looking for these Ford and Caterpillar stuff he is talking about and I can't find shit.

I used to be a part of making those turbo's and jet engine gears for military and commercial applications at honeywell aerospace/engines&systems at the phoenix facility next to sky-harbor airport til they outsourced and moved my specific load center as well as many others to czech republic and chihuahua, mexico - where garrett turbo parts are being made now =/
