SR Sr20det mechanic flake need help!!

Whats up zilvia, im in desperate need of some help here!

Situation:

I have an sr20det full rebuild that i sent to what i thought was a trusted mechanic. I forwarded him the money for labor (again lifetime friend so i trusted him) and bought all the parts myself.

It took him about 4 months just to rebuild the block, and now the block is just sitting in the engine bay waiting to get everything hooked up. Its been sitting there for 2 MONTHS NOW! And is now trying to give me the run around with no work done to it but plenty of cars in his shop being worked on. Ive pressured him to get it done and now I am trying to reach out on here for advice on how to proceed.

Help!!!

Should I cut my losses and pick up the car and have another shop finish it up. And if i do is there any Sr20 knowledgable mechanics willing to finish it off for a decent price?

Only reason this worries me is because that takes away the liability from him which he did all the internal work to it.

I already have a lot of money invested in this build and I just want to hear opinions on how to proceed. And if theres any reliable mechanic on here who can give me a quote let me know!!

**i attached a picture of the current condition of the motor in the engine bay****

Looks like its ready to be hooked up and cranked to me.........

Why dont you just finish it yourself? If the engine is bad its still his fault he built it, hooking up FMIC piping and coolant wont affect the engine being messed up theres no really wrong way to do that, I mean unless you drive on it but obviously youd make sure its good before leaving the garage in it.

I dont have a garage or anywhere i can park the car to work on it at the moment which is the only reason i didnt take on the build myself to begin with. (Forgot to mention above)

Lol you're in California? Put the shop/mechanic on blast and go to the local section. Find a good repped ahole from zilvia to fix your problem. Done!
