Do you gentlemen keep your transmission mount exhaust hanger bracket thing, or have you removed it?
I kind of want to put it back on because it looks cool, but at the same time it seems to hang a bit too low, way below the transmission crossmember. Also, if I do decide to use it, is it supposed to bolt in front, to the header, or in the back, to the catalytic converter? Thank you all very much. |

I received a pretty cool shift knob for my 240... unfortunately the thread pitch is
12mm x 1.25, and the stock shifter thread is 10mm x 1.25... Does anybody make a threaded adapter that changes my 10mm threaded shifter to a 12m one? I have looked, I cannot find one for the life of me. Dan |

S14 kyb agx with tanabe df210 springs
your basic gt2560r ~300hp setup 18x8 +30 front and 18x10 +18 rear I've read/skimmed through 17 pages of the Maximum rubber thread and couldn't really find what I was looking for. May have missed it. I'm not looking for maximum rubber though (probably why I didn't find my answer) and definately not a stretched tire setup. Just something where my car won't peel rubber when I mash the gas pedal in first or second. I want 235 40s in the front and 255 or 265 35s in the rear. All season/longer lasting tires' a must as I daily the car. Preferably no fender work but I realize with the 18x10 +18 in the rear I will need some. What kind of fender work in the rear should I expect for 255-265/35 tires? Any suggestions and info is appreciated. |

why would you want to convert!? get ur A/C lines done, and pump some R12 or F12 into the system and call it done... F12 works great...not as cold as r12, but damn near it, i ran it for a yr on my HB till i did my swap...

I just bought and installed an OE fit CA Magnaflow cat. After leaving my car running for a bit, I noticed that the cat was smoking. There is no fluid dripping onto it and no fluid on it when installed. I can see fumes coming out of the stock exhaust when started, so I don't think the exhaust system is clogged. Could the cat be clogged?
I didn't do anything and the problem went away. Last edited by DaywickelL; 07-19-2010 at 08:53 PM.. Reason: solved? |

i think it may be the coolant temp sensor, the one that has 2 prongs and connects to the ecu. when i was driving my car it did that on first gear. then i went to look under the hood and found that it was unplugged. plugged it up and it was fine. so maybe yalls are bad? you can test it by a resistance test.

So I read online that Sohc KA's have this problem with the chain guides where if they wear all the way down it will cause timing cover damage and lead to coolant in the motor.
1990-1994 Nissan 240SX: Reliability - Consumer Guide Automotive Timing belt: Timing-chain tensioner tends to fail, damaging the timing cover and allowing coolant to leak into the oil pan. (1990) A couple months ago I thought I blew my headgasket because i noticed coolant in my engine oil and i got the milky substance. I almost Overheated but I was able to shut the car off and allowed it cool down and filled my radiator up with enough coolant/water to make my way home and park my car where its been since. Never once did I have white smoke coming out of my exhaust. Just the other day I got bored and started my car and noticed that the car started and idled just fine and no white smoke. What are the chances that I really dont have a blown HG and my timing cover just got eaten up?

yes it will, the adjustable arms just allow for more or even less adjustability compared to the oem, they aren't auto adjustable.
