I think it would depend on whether it was more expensive than going turbo.  If it was cheaper or the same price, then I'd definately consider it

I think it would be tight to have all that torque and such a flat powerband. With good traction you could probably pull wheelies all day long.

1. You will not be able to "pull wheelies" with a 302, theres not enough power.

2. I believe that the stock rear end will not be able to take that kinda power without replacing or doign some serious modifications.

3. I think this guy is bullshit, and his pics look photo shopped.

4. i don't think it will fit because of the strut towers, you'd need to make a custom front suspension that will eliminate the struts, and become springs..

Once again, i think its bullshit, and thats my opinion. I will believe it when i see some videos or something.

Edit: I'm gettign number 4 because some might remember a post months ago about a guy who put a 350 in his 240. it was only for track, and he had taken out the front struts and done all the custom work.. the motor also layed under the windshield... I'ma try to find that post, prolly won't be able to but i could try.

I'd never do it without first driving someone elses 240 with the 302 swap done.

And then, I'd have to have a lot of extra money laying around that I didn't know what to do with <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> right.

Realistically I'll probably never do an engine swap or go turbo. But yeah, 302 would be cool if i was rich so I voted maybe.

Eric, I'd measure a 302 and the 240 engine bay before saying stuff. I think taters pic looked pretty damn fake too. But If I remember reading correctly asad from FA measured it and said it'd fit. Also, don't people put 400+ hp on their rear end when they do high HP turbo applications? So why couldn't our rear support a ~300hp v8?

Dave - also waiting for vid's

Quote Asad
"Ok just for kicks I went and made some measurements of the 240 engine bay.

(measurements good to about 1/2" or so I'd say)
Firewall to rear of stock radiator: 33"
width between top of strut towers: 33.5"

The stock KA24DE is about 24" (ford V8 is 29" long, and 24" wide) from the rear of the valve cover (which is roughly in line with the bellhousing flange) to the face of the water pump pulley (not including the mechanical fan). In addition, it's also about 24" tall from the bottom of the oil pan to the top of the valve cover

I'd imagine that you wouldn't want to position an engine so low that the oil pan hangs down much more than the stock oil pan location, so that means the Ford V8 would be taller than the KA by about 3" according to the TR6 page I referenced earlier. HOWEVER, the height listed on that page is for a carbed 302, with the air cleaner sitting on top of the motor. Anyone know if EFI 302 (aka 5.0) intake manifolds are shorter than the carb ones?"

It all pretty much depends on the price of the swap, but i said yes, because i always trash V8 cars because most of them are put together like shit. &nbsp;I would love to prove myself wrong and have a really nice V8!
