s13 differential main bearing caps out of order

So I tore my diff apart really quick so I could get it to a shop and get it welded before they closed. Long story short I threw everything in a bucket and don't know which bearing cap goes on which side and which way it goes. I noticed numbers on them , not sure if they are part numbers. Anyone care to chime in ? Thanks !

The difference is the bearing cap placement actually matters. Do you even know anything about cars? The differential bearing bore is machined as an assembly, so therefore it matters where you put the caps on reassembly.

To the OP - you're fucked. You could throw it together and have a 50/50 chance, but if it's off, it'll probably be an out of round bearing journal and wear the bearings quickly.

Look at the mating surfaces where the bearings contact, you may be able to see similar wear patterns and match them up. Like the posts above they are not interchangeable as they are line bored and honed and should not be swapped. The shims (washers and spacers) are much less of a problem, if your looking at the rear of the differential there is one washer and one spacer on the right side bearing and only one spacer on the left bearing. This ultimately should be checked with feeler gauges and a dial bore indicator but the FSM shows two on the right one on the left.
