BMW M3 Trans + SR adapter
I was really looking forward to doing this swap but unfortunately chose to go with different engine after my SR blew.
It's a kit that lets you mate E46 M3 trans (Getrag 420g) and zf or m57 to SR20det. I've personally loved the shift feel of m3 and chose this over the popular cd09. It also weighs less than the cd09. (don't remember the exact difference but i think about 50lbs) Trans is out of 03 M3 with around 60k miles from what I was told. PMC kit is 629Euro plus shipping and taxes. comes out to around $820 https://pmcmotorsport.com/swap-sr-sr...0g-e46-m3.html SR20de flexplate was hard to resource which is ironic.. SOLD willing to ship at buyer's dime. Last edited by battery1882; 11-25-2019 at 08:59 AM.. |

does it have a shifter included or do you have to buy/make one?
i'm guessing you'll still have to make a custom driveshaft too? what clutch can you use with it? |

I’m also curious about the clutch and shifter. Looked on their website and can’t see anything that says if it needs their proprietary clutch or if other kits will work. I’m guessing any bmw clutches work?

Hey guys, yeah i wish i can continue with sr but unfortunately need to move on. For shifter, you have few options: 1. Use stock 330/m3 shifter. not sure where this would place the shifter 2. use chassis mount shifter for bmw (you can choose different length rod) $150~$1000 alot of aftermarket options (i.e. https://www.akgmotorsport.com/produc...-stage-ii-e46/) For clutch : cheapest option is getting e46 m3 clutch disk/cover (i.e. spec clutch) Sachs does have their motorsports line which can hold upto 600lb /ft i think.. Driveshaft : Custom as with anything else. Biggest benefit to 420g is the shift feel, I'm sure many of you guys have driven e36/46 m3s and felt how they shift. |

Anybody curious about the specifics of this setup please see my thread here https://zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=656214&page=2
This is a fantastic solution for our cars, and while I dont have personal experience with the PMC kit Ive seen many across the pond running them and vouching for their quality. |

This is a killer kit! Free bump...
The 50lbs weight savings vs a CD00x is accurate when comparing to the 5 speed ZF. Not sure about the 6 speed Getrag. It's worth nothing that the 5 speed ZF from the E36 (all models) and non-M E46 have identical 1st thru 5th gear ratios as the E46 M3 and will work with this setup. The 6th in the E46 M3 is just an overdrive. The E46 M3 transmission are also a good deal more money than the 5 speed ZF. Many of the BMW's I race against prefer the 5 speed as it's allegedly more durable and cheaper to source. Also keep in mind manual BMW cars come with very tall final drive ratios vs Nissan so if you have a stock 4.083 you better hope your engine revs to 9k lol. A short final drive in the BMW world of that era is a 3.4:1-3.6:1 |

Price dropped to $sikd + shipping + paypal fees.
I'm surprised nobody wants M3 shift feel in their 240sx. Last edited by battery1882; 11-12-2019 at 11:55 PM.. |

e46 m3 6 speed goes for around $600-700. m3 SMG (which is identical to manual except it doesn't have centering spring) goes for $300, E36 m3 5 speed goes for around $300
