S14 fuel gauge problem!
Hey guys, have a pretty weird problem that hopefully someone can help me with. Long story short, it's a 1995 240sx which I swapped an RB20 in. Also used the R32 skyline cluster and while wiring it touched the crash bar and shorted out popping the instrument fuse. Problem is that it was fully functioning (fuel gauge included) and after replacing the fuse everything works again other than the fuel gauge. So I checked everything I could find in the fsm with no luck. Swapped the float out for another and tried a different cluster, no go. I tested the gauge and it seems to work, can get it to sweep and did a continuity test on the wires from the tank to the gauge and the float is also in spec. All I can think of now is possibly the lead switch which is built into the bottom of the tank. The fsm also barely touches this part just referencing a continuity test, which I tested and confirmed continuity. At a loss right now lol hopefully someone has some ideas, Thanks.

reviving this. I lost the 3 pin connector in the tank and cant get it back. This is def the lead switch all the way down the tank. I hope this is not for the fuel gauge because why would nissan make such an unaccesible location for that part? |
