SR SR20DET stalling problem

Hello all,

I have a problem with my 14. It idles rough and spits black smoke from the exhaust. I've changed the spark plugs. All the ignition coils spark. I only use high octane for gas. Fuel flow appears to be fine so far. I changed the oil, and it solved the problem temporarily, but it started acting up again about a week later. Turbo spools up, but at about 5k I have to put more gas in it to red line. If anyone can provide me any information on a fix, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thank you,

TJ

Clean your maf, check vac lines, make sure you BOV isn't leaking.

I'll check the maf out and see what happens. I know the BOV isn't leaking, and nothing seems to be wrong with the vac lines. Thank you.

Slightly unrelated, but why are you going partial throttle to redline?

I'm not too good of a mechanic, but I was trying to see how hard I had to push the gas to get past the stutter so when I posted on here I could get as specific as possible. Plus, sometimes when I let it rev high for a little bit, it starts to act normal again.

What did the plugs say? My guess changing them masked the problem, so here it is leaking injector, vacuum leaks, and mafs maybe. Check ecu for codes. Do some test, remove fuel rail prime pump look for leaks, at the injectors. Always boost leak test. Or buy a 1 million count pack of sparkplugs.
