the 1996 S14s have an exemption (this year only). You are not required to clear any monitors. This is due to the initial implementation of OBD2 for that year. I also have a 1996 S14 and successfully passed smog with all the monitors you mentioned uncleared.

There is a very specific driving pattern in the FSM that you should follow. I had the same problem with my 97 a few years ago. Following the pattern cleared everything up in two trips. I think my original problem was that my regular commute was too much highway, not enough stop and go.
If you don't have a copy of the FSM, just search for "240sx emissions drive cycle" and there should be a few images with the pattern listed. |

It’s not about how many miles you shoveled on the car it’s a driving style do a google search of “Nissan drive cycle” and follow it word for word. Example If it says drive between 55 and 60 for 15min, do it.
For the guy that posted on the FORD drive cycle PM me i used to work with a dealer that purchased every ford lightning under the sun and those are tough to drive cycle but I know the trick. Or email me [email protected]

Remember to keep your fuel tank above 1/4 and below 3/4 to get the EVAP cycle to complete. That is the one that normally takes the longest. You must follow the drive cycle exactly. |
