Machine shop sent me pics of corrision from coolant sitn for 8 yrs...smh. dont know if the block can be welded up and machined to fix the problem areas..wont know till later so im building options.
Foolish to think this build qould go flawless and be in and out the machine shop lime nothing..... Not a good friday so far.... |

Yeah, windowed my VET block a few weeks ago, and when I tore it down, block was destined to fail.
Apart from the hole caused by number 1 rod swiss cheesing the block (we think the #1 rod ARP bolts were used 1 too many times and stretched (engine was torn down 3 times prior), #4 seemed to developed a crack in the bore and allowed a bunch of coolant to sit in combustion chamber #4 and cause rust...I@ 360WHP on a Mustang, this block shouldn't have broken a sweat.... I feel your pain... |
