Since my car is 100% stock, my car is definitely more "show" but she handles AWESOME!! &nbsp;I love the stock suspension on my car (yeah, I know--aftermarket is still better, but that takes $$$$ <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> )

well since the only mod I've done was to the engine, which was intake, I'd say go. But, it's really about the same, both show and go i think. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

I've dubbed myself "Team BS Racing"

I don't care if it's covered in bird sh!t (BS), as long as it gets me around and is fun on the track.

(note: this would signify a "GO" vote, as my "show" mods would be limited to replacing a stolen stereo and removing my stock alloy center caps... actually, I had to remove the caps to track it...)

Sorry, but in the book of real power, just slapping a cone air filter and a cat back on your car doesn't qualify as "GO". &nbsp;If you idea of GO is an extra 10 hp then your car is probably more rice than anything.

alright chump.....

in your world, what would i have to do to qualify as a "go" oriented car? the only power mods i have is a drop in K&N and a cat back. am i a "ricer?" by your definition i am. oh but wait, i compete in amatuer forms of motorsports, and will more than likely leave you staring at my "rice-boy-exhaust" at the track (circuit tracks, not drag racing bs). oh well, i guess i'm still just a wannabe.

oh great one......please tell us what makes you and your car so special so we can all emulate and be just like you. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/dozingoff.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

wait... i've got a stock exhaust..... and my car is geared more towards "go".... since "go" also involves using that circular thing that sticks out at you from the dash board.....

so then i can use my ricey ass stock engined car geared towards "go", combine that with my not-so-ricey ass driving ability, and leave him looking at my stock exhaust??

Throwing an air filter in your car and putting on a cat back system doesn't give you much GO. &nbsp;You are lucky if you got 10 horsepower from that. &nbsp;As far as leaving me looking at the back of your car, I don't think so pal. &nbsp;You are a ricer, you have 2 mods on your car that essentialy do almost nothing, and yet you are bragging about how you can burn me. &nbsp;That is the definition of a ricer, someone that likes to think that their car is fast but it really isn't at all. &nbsp;

For your info, I do alot more than street/drag racing. &nbsp;I do alot of circuits too. &nbsp;And your 240 won't out handle my car, or out accelerate it. &nbsp;

Do you wanna hear what "GO" mods are? &nbsp;I'll tell you what I've done to make my car go

I have an 89 Rx-7 Turbo II. &nbsp;The engine is street ported. &nbsp;I have underdrive pulleys, new final drive gears, aluminum flywheel, Centerforce clutch, turbo upgrade, removed A/C, removed power steering pump, modified throttle body, Blow off Valve, Downpipe, Midpipe, Single catback conversion, Weapon-R Dragon Cold air intake, Eibach Springs, Tockico Illumina Struts, Sway Bars, Fuel pump upgrade, Slotted rotors, ECU chip, and I think that pretty much covers it. &nbsp;I don't claim to have the fastest car ever because I know that I don't. &nbsp;I do know however that my car is pretty damn quick, and a hell of a lot faster than a 240 with a drop in filter and a new muffler. &nbsp;

That is why you are a ricer, sorry but you sealed your own fate with that reply. &nbsp;

And maybe I will see your shiny new cat-back at the track, but it would only be because I am lapping you for the second time. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'>

first off.......what the hell are you doing here? do you own a 240 of any sort? if not, go away.

i am fully aware of the limited power gains achieved from merely a drop in filter and cat back. i never have and never will make any claims that my car is fast in a straight line.

if you had been around these boards for any period of time at all, you would realize that i am one of the least "ricey" people here. but instead you go and run your mouth.

also, i never claimed that i would smoke you at the track. if you go back and read, it said you would most likely be staring at my "rice-boy-exhaust." i'm not so stupid to make closed ended statements about people i don't know. but apparantly you are dumb enough to interpret them as such.

i'm still skeptical about your track experience so please tell me where you live, what tracks you have run at, what your times were, what sanctioning body you are a member of, what series you run in, and any other information that can prove me wrong.

i make no claims that my car is faster than your TII, i know that it is not.
note: people that are fast don't usually hop from forum to forum looking for strangers to impress.

lol.... so if "Eibach Springs, Tockico Illumina Struts, Sway Bars" are go, and so are slotted rotors (which would be "anti-go"), then why would u say TNord, who has Tokico struts, drop in filter, and a catback, isn't anymore go??

PS. FC3sking: I think you are on the wrong board. Your car sounds very nice, BUT, it's not the car it's the driver. My car has very basic engine work, but it goes like stink (with me in it), I hope you've been doin that track stuff for a while! &nbsp;AM I RICE

I have underdrive pulleys, new final drive gears, aluminum flywheel, Centerforce clutch, turbo upgrade, removed A/C, removed power steering pump, modified throttle body, Blow off Valve, Downpipe, Midpipe, Single catback conversion, Weapon-R Dragon Cold air intake, Eibach Springs, Tockico Illumina Struts, Sway Bars, Fuel pump upgrade, Slotted rotors, ECU chip, and I think that pretty much covers it. I don't claim to have the fastest car ever because I know that I don't. I do know however that my car is pretty damn quick, and a hell of a lot faster than a 240 with a drop in filter and a new muffler.

That is why you are a ricer, sorry but you sealed your own fate with that reply.

And maybe I will see your shiny new cat-back at the track, but it would only be because I am lapping you for the second time. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'></td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'>
first off.......what the hell are you doing here? do you own a 240 of any sort? if not, go away.

i am fully aware of the limited power gains achieved from merely a drop in filter and cat back. i never have and never will make any claims that my car is fast in a straight line.

if you had been around these boards for any period of time at all, you would realize that i am one of the least "ricey" people here. but instead you go and run your mouth.

also, i never claimed that i would smoke you at the track. if you go back and read, it said you would most likely be staring at my "rice-boy-exhaust." i'm not so stupid to make closed ended statements about people i don't know. but apparantly you are dumb enough to interpret them as such.

i'm still skeptical about your track experience so please tell me where you live, what tracks you have run at, what your times were, what sanctioning body you are a member of, what series you run in, and any other information that can prove me wrong.

i make no claims that my car is faster than your TII, i know that it is not.
note: people that are fast don't usually hop from forum to forum looking for strangers to impress.</td></tr></table><span id='postcolor'>
I never singled you out in the first place as rice. &nbsp;I said that people that do almost no mods and think that their car is fast are rice. &nbsp;And the comment you made about me seeing the back of your exhaust was exactly what I took it as, if that isnt what you meant then there is no reason that you would have said it like that. &nbsp;

I don't own a 240, I came here because I have seen many of your members on the Rx-7 boards. &nbsp;I said earlier than I have respect for people that have knowledge about their cars and know their limitations.

Yes, the driver plays a huge role in how fast a car is, but you can't tell me that 2 average drivers in 2 different cars are going to be dead even if one car is definitely faster. &nbsp;

The fact that I came on here and made one comment about people thinking they have fast cars because they have an air filter does not mean im trying to impress people. &nbsp;When I listed my modifications, I listed all of them. &nbsp;the fact that whoever wrote the thing about brakes and springs arent go is merely trying to pick apart anything I said for the sake of doing so. &nbsp;I listed plenty of go, and have plenty of go in my car. &nbsp;I wrote everything else to complete my list of mods. &nbsp;

I generally don't telling people where I live, but since you are skeptical, I live in Upstate New York. &nbsp;I drag at Esta Safety Park in Cicero, and my best 1/4 ET has been a 12.5. &nbsp;I am on a team here and we have a few events a year at Watkins Glen, I don't know if anyone out there knows of it but it is a stop on the Winston Cup circuit, and a very famous race track. &nbsp;I have ran a few SCCA Solo II races in the street modified class as well.

and you say you didn't single me out huh?

what exactly is this so called team?
how did you get onto watkins glen, you can't just drive up and say, "hey buddy, i'll give you $50 if you let me on the track."
Where did you place in SoloII? what were your times compared to other competitors?

EDIT:
btw, i meant exactly what i said.
"{i will} more than likely leave you staring at my "rice-boy-exhaust" at the track "

listen, I labeled you as a rice boy after you went went after me for what i said. &nbsp;And I said that because of your comments. &nbsp;Sorry if I took it the wrong, but it sure sounds like you were saying you could burn me. &nbsp;And yes, you can reserve Watkins Glen. &nbsp;If you call ahead of time on an off day you can reserve the track for a certain amount of money. &nbsp;If you want to know the name of my team, it's Accelerated Concepts out of Central New York.

yes you can rent it out, but you also have to have all kinds of crazy insurance for liability purposes, so i really doubt a "team" has the money to rent out an entire track as popular as watkins glen. how many people are on this team? how much was it? you guys must have quite the business if you can afford to have such an event. do you guys have a website? how far in advance did you have to call to get the day reserved for you?

and your list isn't very complete, is it.

Meanwhile.... who are you autocrossing with?? I.E. what sanction?? &nbsp;I try to get to every solo II event I can within a few states. &nbsp;I'll be at the NER event up in Loudon this sunday. &nbsp;Who knows, maybe I'll run SM with Jeff just to run that class for a day, and maybe give myself a reason to stick the turbo in.
I've met a few people who drag in upstate NY, maybe I'll go with em next time and see how fast that 12 sec RX of yours really is.

I'm just wondering what the point of this post was.
This being one of your first two posts...It looks like a deliberate troll to me.

"Sorry, but in the book of real power"

Nobody said anything about "real power" just whether or not the car was going down the path for "go" or "show".
10hp makes you go faster...not much but it's "GO" and I/H/E (though, more than +10hp) is enough to bump you up a couple classes (stock to sts) so it must be something.

That $1k could have gone into a body kit if the car was "show".

Edit: ace technically you've already thrown a turbo in your car <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

Watkins Glen has days that are designated for this sort of thing. &nbsp;They also have days where the track is available to rent out. &nbsp;Not it is not an insane amount of money, especially if you know people. &nbsp;And no, we did not have to have all sorts of crazy liability insurance. &nbsp;Everyone had to sign a waiver before the entered the track saying no one was held responsible, blah blah. &nbsp;And you had to sign something saying you understood that insurance doesn't cover anything that may happen, but I think everyone knew that.
