I'm pretty happy with that torque level given the motor is stock internally. We had plenty of room to play but this feels and looks safe based on logs. I'm traveling but i'll upload the graph when I get back home next week.

You should be happy, you paid for it!

My comment was on why so many people were fondling the satchel of someone posting numbers with the lack of proof.

So I didn't miss that graph?!

I still believe in the old zilvia, where if you mumbled lefty loosey right tighty, you got ethered!!

Comp Turbo T25/T28 upgrade

Hey guys, we have a pretty solid option when it comes to this turbo. There seems to be a great deal of info and customer participation as far as testing etc.
This turbo charger is available in sizing to cross reference 2860/2871/3071/3076 in the T25/T28 configuration.
If and when someone is willing to give our alternative a shot I would love to work a deal with you to put it through the rounds and receive feedback.

Thanks guys.

The point is i want a 350whp turbo now and ONCE i build the bottom end turn up the boost to 450+ i dont want to buy another turbo. Will the 2867 get me there or should i go for the 3071 also this is my purely drift car so response is much needed

You do not need bigger cams for a measly 350hp. Nor do you need a twin scroll or a 3071.
A 16g turbo in a T2 bolt on housing is all you need for that.

The DIF lines from FRSport are quite nice. Made with quality Goodridge fittings. Just choose your engine: S13 or S14/15. Restrictor size is 0.035" for BB CHRA.

Yeah, that's it. I had the DIF lines, and bought their small restrictor to use on my Garrett BB. Must be ATP Turbo that sells the .035" one I was thinking of. Same idea. The orifice on both are extremely close in diameter and will produce nearly the same oil pressure at the turbo.

^ The "premium" version of those DIF lines just showed up last week for my build. Premium for the silicone heat shielding and billet steel fittings I guess.. They are v nice for sure.

On topic, they are plumbed to a gtx2867r, Tial 0.64 vband housing
future fab manifold + Turbosmart 45 wg
manley h-beams and cp pistons
BC springs and retainers
ECU Masters black edition stand-alone

plus all the other expected stuff, 255 pump, straight piped and greddy mid mount i/c
I'm coming from an s15 turbo + z maf + nistune setup, so the bolt-ons were already there.
Fully worked and reassembled, zero miles. ARP studs aftermarket gasket blah blah, otherwise typical s13 redtop. Not much headwork but I beefed the bottom end up, so my tuner is just going to throw a good amount of boost at it and I'm going to stand there and pucker up. 850 side feeds and AZ 91 octane will likely be the limiting factor.

Taking bets on whp...! Hopefully hitting the dyno later this week

It will also be interesting to compare this to the next stage which will be corn fuel, 1000 topfeeds, greddy intake manifold and cams. Something I look forward to but I'm ready to get back behind the wheel!

How come you are not sticking with nistune?
I don't see many people with nistune. That's what I just got only reason being my sr is euro spec so plug n play stand alone was not an option so went with nistune.

Because Nistune is simply not as capable as any of the aftermarket offerings

I did stick with Nistune, ran it for 4 years. It was great for the price I got it for and it took me above 300whp on a very basic s15 turbo setup. I'm 7 years total into my s13 though and figured with the engine rebuild, the new 2867, and other upgrades it was time to graduate to a stand alone as well. Like Ralliart said, Nistune simply isn't as powerful as any aftermarket computer in any way.

But your comment leads me to believe you feel that you more or less settled with Nistune, so you get it

Hey there, I've had a GTX2867 .63 laying around for a while and Im getting close to installing it onto my car.

Engine is the typical built (S13) SR:
CP Pistons
Manley rods
Tomei Poncams
Ported heads
3 angle valve job

Recently i've been trying to figure out if its worth going for an aftermarket intake manifold for this setup. Been emailing Mazworx, Otaku Garage, and a couple other manufacturers in Australia, but none really give me a straight answer or an honest recommendation.

Would going for an aftermarket intake manifold be worthwhile for a turbo of this size? I was initially all right with the stock intake for streetability/ response goals, but now im worried that I wont be able to enjoy the top end as much. Car is gonna be my final build and I plan to enjoy it in the canyons and track days aside from driving it around town.

So I had a very similar setup, and ended up going with the Greddy intake manifold. I made 417whp on pump gas at like 22psi. Car was an absolute blast!

I have no idea how much difference the intake made, but I wanted to do it, for no other reason other than having a cleaner looking IC pipe routing lol

I've been curious on that otaku garage intake manifold as well. There's little to no data on it available though on the internet.

I emailed them and all they could say was that their manifold focuses on mid to top end "depending on the setup"

Another guy I know is running some sort of gtx28 frame ,stock engine, and an otaku garage manifold. The car made 370whp with a power FC. I wasnt at the dyno session so i didnt see a graph. It was a roller dyno tho, not a dynapack. Also, they never tuned the engine using a stock manifold.

EDIT: Car made a max of 360whp. Doesnt have a picture of the graph though. Just the graph for 326whp. 326whp 265 torque (lbs or nm i dont know because the pic of the gfraph was cut off, but im betting it was ft/lbs hahaha)

Although dont SR20s seem to have max HP and torque figure very close to each other? Or maybe im confusing myself with graphs that read nm vs lbs/ft?

Could the descrepancy be due to the intake + smaller frame turbo?

Otaku garage is very very similar to some ebay manifolds.

If you want to go with legit top end manifold, then you go plazmaman.

If you want to focus on street and mild track or fun drift day, then go with xcessive engineering plenum with stock runners.

This goes to the dyno tomorrow.

GTX2650 Gen2
10.5:1 comp
HKS step 1 cams
Some light head work
Greddy intake

Last time out it made 360 on 18 psi/100 octane with a 9:1 bottom end and we had plenty left to go. This time it'll be on e85 and I'm hoping to crack 450 at around 25 psi. We'll see
