1995 240sx RB25DET, 350WHP

For sale 1995 240sx SE (5 lug) with RB25DET
Testing waters, I don’t drive it enough to justify the insurance/taxes every year.
$9.5k flexible, I might be optimistic with that figure but I’m not in a rush to sell.

No trades, have 3 vehicles don’t want to carry the tax/insurance expenses.
Some rust on the chassis mainly around rear wheel wells nothing major. Had some pan rust professionally repaired a few years back, seems like it mainly lived in Ohio ODO reads 166k. I bought it from a guy off Zilvia in Indiana, he put in the RB25 swap it had 159k at that time. (only put 7k on it over the 7 years I've had it) I never drove it in the snow/salt and was garaged and didn’t move in the winter.

When I bought it Carfax showed 4 or 5 previous owners and early in its life showed an accident, however I couldn’t find anything other than minor cosmetic body damage. Has a few dents but not too bad not a show car by any means. I’ve gone over most of the car to work out kinks and get it in a place I’m satisfied with. I’ve done some autocrosses with it, not a competitive car but wasn’t meant to be, idea was to have a powerful fun car. I think I succeeded in that aspect.

Interior was smoked in by previous owner hasn’t been smoked in ~5+ years, doesn’t smell too bad, has some small cigarette burns. Could use a detailing to remove stains in back seat (looks like coffee) and remove dog hair.

Pure turbo, ~350WHP at 15psi on a dyno dynamics, tuned by iLL Garage.

Parts installed and some build notes:
Large intercooler , front cross member was cut to allow for intercooler. Probably ebay but it holds pressure and seems to work
Derale fan
Koyo radiator
Welded in coolant temp sensor into koyo radiator, autometer brand
OEM Water pump, idler, timing belt installed ~5 years ago maybe 5k miles
Derale fan controller (installed but not hooked up, left it in as a backup)
HKS BOV (not sure if legit seems to work just fine, holds boost fine, and actuates) setup to re-circulate after MAF
Air filter came from raw brokerage back in the day, could be replaced
Z32 MAF
RB25DET S1, good compression last time I checked
5 year old coils packs
Plugs are NGK, BRK coppers one range colder than OE (can’t recall PN)
Q45 throttle body
Greddy intake manifold 99.9% sure its legit
Moroso catch can
Quest alternator and associated hardware, was purchased new ~5 years ago
Legit red 740cc NISMO injectors from RHD Japan (not redrills)
NISMO power brace
Traction rods (unsure of brand, maybe ISIS or equivalent)
SIKKY engine swap swaybar
Stance GR (maybe GR+ has tender in the rear) coil overs (in the rear I have older style longer bottom mounts, I don’t like their standard shorter mounts, makes car too low)
Innovate wideband, could be replaced or cleaned, does soot up sometimes and pegs rich. After a heatup next crank it works fine. If you want to dyno tune off this wideband I’d recommend getting a spare sensor.
Cusco front strut tower brace.
No AC, no cruise control, AC button is set to force on radiator fan through ECU. Otherwise it turns on at ECU set temp, I think 85 or 90C. Cools just fine in 100F weather.
AVCR boost controller
RS 232 to USB adapter for wideband to PC
Z32 ECU modded and nistuned to run RB25DET, have CONSULT to USB cable in car. Last time I checked the nistune license transfers.
Interior is mostly OE I’d say good condition compared to most 240SX for sale, I have a BNIB dash vent trim, old one broke when attempting to remove didn’t want to install it just to break it when removing it again.
RB20 trans
SPEC 1 OE style clutch maybe ~5k miles
AMperformance downpipe, could be reworked or replaced to have matching exhaust turbine diameter with Pure turbo, some extra HP is just waiting there.
S13 speedo sender that gives 2x speed to ECU and cluster. I have resistor mod to speedo, but it’s off by 10% too slow, IE if you read 50 really you are going ~55. This affects ODO readings. Dakota unit would be handy for this. Turned off governor in ECU.
Tach is calibrated for the 6 cylinders
Airbags intact
No lights on dash, check engine or airbag issue
Aluminum driveshaft from shaft masters
S15 HLSD installed by DRC transmissions
No ABS
Front wheels have offset spacers for wheel clearance (15mm? I’ve got other sized spacers also)
ARP extended front wheel studs
Rear extended wheel studs (can’t recall brand, maybe cusco, or circuit sports)
Wheel bearings are good, no play, will pass SCCA tech inspection.
17” FN01RC 5zigen wheels, I think 9” or 10” wide with 255 direzza Z2 rubber with 1.25 to 2 of 3 wear bars left. Maybe good for another 3-8k miles depending on driving use. Square setup front to rear, allows for tire rotation.
CUSCO rear shock tower brace
3” exhaust, can’t identify brand
Radio antenna is fixed in up position and power actuator is disconnected. Power actuator gear is stripped and only makes horrible buzzing noise when attempting to actuate.
Radio works fine.
No key FOB, looks like it has the FOB receiver under the dash, not sure if replacements can be found/programmed.
Energy suspension rear subframe and carrier bushing, no rear sway bar I stripped out one of the mounting bosses in the subframe. Had a quote to fix it for $80.
R33 front cross member
NISMO engine mounts
HAWK street pads in front
Rear control arms are ISIS brand or equivalent, has SPL eccentric lockouts
Battery in trunk.
Walbro fuel pump
Adjustable FPR

Parts included but NOT INSTALLED:

RB25 trans, 2nd gear dogs are worn, you can run it. I was planning on putting it back in and trying different oils but the RB20 trans is just fine. Has speed sender, if you run it you’ll need to change the speedo resistor mod back to OE. If anything the bellhousing is useful for mating a Z32 trans to the RB25.

RB25 steel driveshaft
SPL bump steer correcting tie rod ends and TEIN tie rods
Old dented oil pan
Nissan engine overhaul seal and gasket kit, might be missing intake/exhaust gasket (installed on car)
Old coil packs which I bet are just fine
OE front and rear sway bars
OE radiator
OE wheels, only one has good rubber I’m using as a full size spare
BRK spark plugs I think some OE temp and one setting colder
Open diff from HLSD install
Extra carrier with open diff
Boost leak tester, which is installed after removing the MAF
Fidanza aluminum flywheel with 1-2k miles on the replaceable steel face. I didn’t like how to car drove with this installed.
SPEC 3+ (I think) clutch with unknown miles, came with car when I bought it. Just didn’t like the engagement and was overkill for my power goals. Wasn’t slipping or anything bad, would use again if need too.
Z32 front brakes, steel , rusty with nasty lines I wouldn’t run these. Good for cores or rebuild.
Starter in unknown condition (Could be tested at autozone).
HAWK street rear pads.
J&S knock interceptor, the sensors are installed on the block, didn’t really work for me, didn’t have the interest in figuring it out. Really adds no value, but these don’t have a resell market so have at it.
Some interior parts as spares or that were semi broken originals I kept as I replaced them.
Sun roof with broken trim
A ton of other miscellaneous parts that I’m forgetting

1 year bump, I guess. Sold my 3rd car so been driving this one more.

Put in a new wideband sensor, rerouted the wire harness in the fender, changed the IC mounting, put in an oil filter relocation, and a aftermarket power steering cooler.

Also removed the derale fan controller to make room for the oil filter relocation.

Frame rails are okay, pinch welds have seen better days.

Pulled the motor to see if there was a bearing issue, was making some noises upon startup but oil pressure was okay at all RPMs.

Didn't find a bearing or oiling issue likely just noisy lifters. Howver found cyl 5 has a chunk missing and some dents on the head and cylinder and a scratch in the bore. Compression was fine and no oil consumption. (granted I don't drive more than 2k mi a year so cant say 100%)

Likely can just put in a used piston and getting the head welded and decked.

So 4k firm for the shell and all parts. If not sold within the week I'm buying another engine.

Didn't see your reply. I'm sure it doesn't matter at this point.

Bought a used motor but it turned out to be a dud, never installed it. Luckily I got my money back.

I rebuilt the motor with supertech pistons, king rod bearings, ACL mains. Had the block overbored, head decked.

Rebuilt the power steering pump. Painted the block. Installed a S2000 antenna.
New thermostat, old one's rubber was rotting, glad I caught that before it caused an issue.

Put on BFG rival tires.

I've got about 200 miles on the rebuild.

Doing good so far.

I guess its still for sale if someone wants it.

Hah at thread.

Yea still have it for "sale" for 2 years. Its interesting no one from zilvia really seems interested.

Had it on Craigslist for a month but isn't worth dealing with the jokers. I dont do facebook (i guess that has a large marketplace now a days). I must be asking too much.

*Shrug*

But no real need to sell. I might have a reason to sell when the new vette comes out or I find a nicely equiped cayman.

450mi on the rebuild, so far so good. Been getting some belt squeal on the alternator. Need to add some tension but haven't been motivated enough.

Facebook marketplace is the new craigslist. 80% of people on there do not read and ask questions when the answer is already in the listing. GLWS

plus most of the vehicles I've gone to check out from FB Marketplace are WILDLY different than advertised. Big differences in mileage, condition, etc. Even odometer discrepancies (rollbacks verified by Carfax).

Sounds scummier than craigslist. Now thats an achievement.

Actually all my craigslist transactions have been above board, except for one shifty character, but he had the cash so I didnt care.
