clutch pedal return spring install tips?

i'm trying to install the return spring in my clutch pedal and i'm just having a shitty time trying to compress the spring.
Anyone have any tips for installing it?

My best advice is to take out the whole assembly. Its just easier that way and you can get better leverage to get the spring on. I couldn't figure out a real trick except using large pliers and patience. Also, make sure to wear work gloves. The spring can pinch your skin and leave some nasty blood blisters.

I did this with my dash out and pedal still installed, so I had easier accessibility. Pretty much I slid one end into the hole and used needlenose pliers to try to force the other end into the other hole. I had to play around with it for a little bit but I eventually got it in, dont be afraid to use some force.

I would also recommend to get little bushings to prevent the pedal from squeaking; again this is from personal experience.
I got my spring from FRSport.
