Engine Bay Paint Help!

How's it going everyone,
Recently just finished stripping down my engine bay for paint. I ordered some paint supplies online and am wondering if 1 quart of paint is enough to paint my S14s engine bay, as well as my crash support bar. I'm new to painting and just wanted to know if that will be enough? Thanks in advance!

I'm also painting the front part of the engine bay as well. Where the headlights go and bumper mounts!!

1 quart should be more than plenty. Old school B-body Mustang takes only about a pint per coat, and their bays are quite a bit larger.

it'll also depend on the color your using. some pigments don't cover as quickly as others do. Just don't try and rush it. Nice even thinner coats are always better than blasting it on trying to get coverage quickly. You're first coat should be semi transparent, and just let it build up on its own.

also depends on your spray equipment, some guns use less material and achieve coverage quicker too.definitely correct on the comment on the color also... some colors (lighter colors) take more to cover the primer or sealer that you put on. goodluck brother!

I feel like I'm beating a dead horse but everyone is right. There are a lot of variables in this equation you have to consider.

What color is your primer, base and overall color you're looking to achieve? What equipment are you using? Is this is a color you're going to use for any other parts of the car like the interior or other bits? If this is your first time or something you can to reshoot, I'd probably get more. Having too much is better than having too little - especially if you make a mistake somewhere and don't have supplies readily available to immediately fix the issue before it snowballs into something much larger.

A quart is more than enough to paint your engine bay. Like someone said above a pint would cover everything you mentioned. Also, is this a single stage or two stage? If it's a two stage and using the same gun to shoot the clear ensure that the gun is super clean! When spraying make sure to not have your paint guns fan super high or running high pressure. I've seen people who shoot their own cars and not really pay attention to this. You can really waste material if your gun isn't well adjusted. Plus, your paint job might not look as good. Just take your time and you'll be good.
