supposedly g-sync for invidia gpus and freesync for amd gpus. future gsync monitors might be compatible with amd cards.
https://www.pcgamesn.com/nvidia/nvid...esync-monitors have been wanting this monitor, ASUS ROG SWIFT PG43UQ even though it doesn't make a lot of sense with my 1080ti https://www.guru3d.com/articles-page...-review,1.html |

Getting fake stuff from china. Shocker, really.
Anyone should know by now dealing with aliexpress and wish is a gamble where more often than not the buyer loses.

harder to find decent mobo for it. my last 4790k daily OC 4.5ghz. it went home to a console gamer, now a pcmaster race enthusiast.
have you looked at the 3300x https://www.guru3d.com/news-story/am...en-3-3100.html |

I have HDD's for my media. My boot is an SSD. I will dig around some older files and see if they seem to load faster.

seems unlikely big navi and ampere gaming gpus would be released as early as Sep, but good news as it shows things are moving along. |

Not me. I am never going to pay 1200 for a gpu.
The 2080 ti is not enough of an upgrade from the 1080ti.

yeah forgot about the 2080ti. almost feel bad for retailers who still have them in stock if we get a reasonably priced 3080ti by Sep. under 1200 for 3080ti would be tempting for me,
if it lives up to expectations |

depends how big of a jump is the 3080ti. 50-70% like the rumor has been saying then 2080ti has jumped to mid range performance/prices $500 +/- i really doubt it though. the greed is strong within nvidia. |

^Same
The gpu market has slowed to a crawl. The 1080ti is so good even after being three years old this year it still competes with today’s top end cards. A 2080 Super while technically faster is barely so A 2080ti is faster but not by a huge margin. A game running at 110 fps vs 135 is imo indistinguishable from each other. I saw a video on YouTube of a 2080ti vs a 5700 xt at 4k. Top comment was something like “15-30% more performances for 300% more price” Yea forget that. $700 is my gpu limit. For that it has to be at least 50% better than the 1080ti which no gpu even comes close. Links: https://youtu.be/inGeab5txbY https://youtu.be/DCfwuh2vsxY

Depends on the processor you use but yes. A 3600 based "gaming pc" would be great for video editing.

I'm just loving all the memes about the PS5 design.
Slightly on topic, Linus has a great video about how the PS5 will have faster memory than PC's due to optimization, at least currently until they overcome it with raw power. It's in his recent "apology" video. |

ps5 seems like a great buy given what it can do for a console. I cant see it being over 600 but even then seems like a good buy. definitely tempted.
gran tourismo trailer a nice look at ps5 potential. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecUQE-sDUtk |
