KA Ka24det timing problems

Okay so I’m resorting to the forums. Recently I replaced the head gasket on my s13 with a ka-t. I threw the thing back together and didn’t really pay the timing any mind. Soon after I realized that was a big mistake. I then took the whole timing assembly apart and put it back together matching the lower and upper chain with the correct dots on the corresponding links. I also made sure I was at true TDC when doing all this. I tried putting the distributor in multiple positions including the position I‘ve read it should be in (the dot on the gear lines up with the notch on the shaft of the distributor). I have brain crower stage 2 265 cams with adjustable gears but I just put the gears at the stock position. The car turns over but won’t fire or run at all. It’s getting fuel and spark, and after checking the #1 plug after attempting to start there is fuel on the plug. The exhaust also smells like good ole 93. Any help at all would be awesome.

Disregard. Where is your distributor clocked to? What color/how strong is the spark?

Spark is White and the spark doesn’t seem weak at all. The distributor as of right now is clocked at TDC.

Compression should be fine. Before I replaced the head gasket it had 130-140 across all 4. Could it be that I need to mess with my cam timing?

That?s real odd I would try & spray your intake manifold with some started fluid just to role out injectors hope it helps

No. When you screwed up your timing chains you did mess with cam timing, and could have crushed your valves.

Why did you replace the head gasket?

So you changed the head gasket, and your compression is a bit lower?

You know exhaust always makes water? And that your car's smoking because of blowby and the accompanying clogged crappy PCV system?
