Thank you!! I am actually selling the wheels off the E38 to buy my friend's RB25 for the R31.
The Z31 is finally getting back on track. Lifter shims have been ordered and are the final pieces for the head. The pistons are done and getting treated/coated. Those will be shipped next week too. Then this year long engine build will finally wrap up. |

Pistons, rings and wrist pins arrived along with the lifter shims. Last of the required parts for the engine!
I also stopped by the body shop just as they were starting to weld the seams. |

Engine bay should be wrapped up this week and I cannot wait to post final pics. Paint not long after that.
My BMW E38 M7 is going up on bringatrailer soon and I will post a link when it's live. Ready to move on after 2 years. Actually looking for another classic skyline for the stable. DR30 iron mask kouki RS turbo red/black. The end goal is beast HR31, stock'ish DR30 and the N/A RB Z31. Best of all worlds. Stock steering wheel back in and replaced the trim below the tail lights. Better paint and sticker/logo. Gave her a bath too. I have 2 of those worn switches but waiting until I find the rest because I only want to remove the dash panel once. Also for anyone interested, my BMW E38 is up on bringatrailer and ends in 2 days. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2001-bmw-740i-27/ |

Head is done!!!! Block is bored and honed. He needs the dampener and flywheel for crank balancing. Dampener shipped this week and I just need to figure out which flywheel to order today.

I think I spent a half shift at work just reading comments on your BAT auction haha. Sorry it didn't meet your initial reserve price because it definitely deserved more. Stoked to see what you build next though.

Haha! I think it may have broken a record with the number of comments.
I did get my reserve and made money on the car but I really thought it was going higer. But I am still happy and am replacing it with two cars. One of which will be finalized tomorrow morning and the other is being inspected in Japan over night and then purchased within 48 hours if it checks out. |

Do you remember what product was used for the throttle plate sealing? After doing some research i'm up to Molykote 321 as the prefered stuff to use? As far as the application it's unclear if you are supposed to let it Fully cure (24hrs+) before cracking the plates open, of if you open them when it is tacky and not fully cured. And man is that stuff expensive! Also not sure if brush on or aerosol is better.

I just want one of those center roof antenna's off of those skylines haha.
FJ20ET is an awesome engine. Basically an iron block sr20. Always wanted to build one of those but parts sourcing scares me. |

Finally a quality car. Im a huge MB nut. Have 3 and have owned over 20 of them. You will love the E55, just don't drive a Bi-Turbo MB, those are addicting.

Ha, too late! That was the first AMG I ever drove. 2014 e63. Loved the car but not exterior so I bought an 07 e63. I like this e55 much better than my old e63 even though it only had like 34k miles. This one has 89k.
Weistec 2.9L whipple, eurocharged tuning, weistec twin pump water cooled FMIC, snow methanol system, long tube headers, race cats, full exhaust etc. I know the builder who described it as a blank check build! |

I do prefer the M113k to the turbo engines. Simpler, more down low instant torque and the SOHC engines sounds way better. To bad no one makes an Eaton setup for these engines. A 2.65 would be wicked. |
