The processor has my attention. I hope that 4.5ghz comes with a sizeable IPC boost as well. Ryzen is cool but still a side grade from my 4690K at 4.5ghz. I don't stream or render vids so all those cores mean dooly squat.

That a petty tall order. The 2600x is basically on par with my ancient 4690K and some new chips are supposed to best the 9900K? I mean I would love for it to be so but I'm taking it with a ocean full of salt.

Currently memory suppliers can’t produce decent 4000mhz+ DDR4. I don’t think it’s the CPUs that need to catchup but the ram.

Save your money up for a GTX2060. Retail price differences are not that great compared to the performance increase. If you can get a decent 580 or 1060 6gb used for $125 or lower that may hold you over. I would not spend my money on a new 590 or 1060ti.

o that price it is a killer deal. The 2060 on most charts is within 10% +/- of the 56 so they basically trade blows.

https://hardforum.com/threads/possib...nch-4.1982039/ The entry level 6core is better then the 2700x. It's not a bad start @ $100. |

The 3800x would be a great deal if it can get within +/- 10% of the 9900K.

See. I was good with my 4690K. Then AMD had to come with all these benchmarks. Now I am considering a Ryzen build.
I am eagerly awaiting the nda to drop. I prefer guru3d myself. I got my eye on the 3700x and 3800x. I want at least 9700K performance. That would all ready be a good bit over my i5.

I dont see them as screwing customers over. there’s no real strong incentive for nvidia to make 2080ti super seeing theres no real competition from anyone other than themselves. its just more options for customers. maybe you can make the case its bad for retailers.
im soeculating of course, but 2080ti super might a worthy upgrade for those of us w 1080ti’s. i might get one to replace my 1080ti as long as the performance is a reasonable enough improvement and it stays under 1500 good job to amd too making some strong efforts to keep nvidia on their toes. |

I think the super cards are just a result of yield and production improvements since Turning came out. I don’t think they had the capability to produce them at launch.
I do think they were going to sit on them for as long as possible and AMDs launch was a good time to show off some progress on their side. I am glad AMD is going hard at the core market. They may not have a 2080 killer but, the majority of the market is the $200-400 cards. The only disappointment is all the features they showed off for the console market that is not in the Navi cards. Makes me believe there are some more cards to come.

This right here. Even at 1440p I can get 90+ fps on a lot of games and older ones easily crest the 120+ fps. The increase of the 2080ti is not enough to justify paying that price for it which is over double what I paid for my (used) 1080ti.
