s13 2jzge/1jz swap now sc300 2jzvvti

Well here is the story so I have had about 4 diff 240's and this time I want to do something a little diff well back when I desided to do that is my plan is for a 2jz swap. Since I am no way near having tons of cash flow I have a N/A 2Jz but If you know anything about them they still have some strong sides, forged rods, and crank same as the turbo motor and a very high flowing head. well here are a few pics to start thanks for looking.

The single slammer

My soon to be power house

and my R154 trans from a mk3 supra with me new 1Jz bell housing

You have such a low post count for being an active member so long haha.

Looks good though! Engine bay cleaned up very nicely. Car pics??

And what kinda power can a 2JZ lay down NA? Dont know shit about them unless they're strapped to a t77 or some shit haha.

Output is 220 hp JIS (158 to 169 kW) at 5800 to 6000 rpm and 209 to 220 ft.lbf (283 to 298 Nm) of torque at 3800 to 4800 rpm.

Low post count comes from being active on another board that seems to be dyeing so I feel this forum will become my new home.

Once I got it in it was time to do some wiring I found that I only had to wire up about 6 or 7 wires to get it to fire up

After about 2 hours of wiring it started up on the first crank I was really happy to hear it start the motor it self has about 75k miles I had the valve covers off and they were really clean so I am happy about that.

once everything was in I ran into a few problem first who ever had the car before me cross threaded all the trans mounting cross member bolts so I had to drill them out and heal a coil them.

Once that was all fixxed my shifter was about a inch and a half forward of where it need to be. keep in mind they do make a kit to fix this problem they have a longer shifter housing and shifter rod I think 2jz swap makes it and its about 400 dollars I may be off on that price. so what I did was I ordered a 1jz shifter housing and rod that gave me about a half inch back and for the other inch i heated the shifter and reshaped it.

looks good, what mounts did you use so the n/a intake would clear the hood? i always figured it would hit.

I have Rucas mounts with solid engine mounts the intake used to touch the hood the I cut down the emgime mounts tell the sub oil pan was about a 1/8 inch from the rack. then it cleared with no further problems.

Cool, thats some good info right there. best of luck with the rest, i'm excited to see how it turns out. i think bang for buck a NA-T 2JZ is a pretty damn way to go.

AWESOME BUILD! I daily drive my SC300 with a 2JZGE and I dont care what anyone says, boosted or not, 2JZs are awesome engines. Mine has 210K on it and runs better then most cars Ive driven with lower mileage.

Im droppin a 1JZGTE into my S14 but still missing a few parts to make it driveable, $$$ is the main issue.

I think someone needs to work out an aftermarket upgrade for the N/A 2JZ intake manifold, because the whole cross over is a bit annoying especially when doing regular maintenance such as spark plugs on the car. Also with the intake going over next to the exhaust I imagine it heat soaks quite a bit.

I think a light weight flywheel, a nice header, intake, and a few mods and that N/A 2JZ will come to life. That with the light weight of the 240 and it will be plenty fun for driving. And as far as reliability... honestly I think theres no way you can pop that thing especially with 75xxx on it.

GOOD LUCK!!! SUBSCRIBED

There are a few companies out there that make front facing intake manifolds for the 2JZ-GE. i know there are a few "ebay" brands and a few nicer ones out there. seem they work pretty well.
