We need a "Motorsport" section, for legal racing! - Zilvia.net Forums | Nissan 240SX (Silvia) and Z (Fairlady) Car Forum

I am very new to the racing world, but the only dream i have ever had for my life was to be a touring car driver.  So if i could ask questions in an appropriate section it would be great.  It would also get the word out to the illegal racers how easy and fun it is to race LEGALLY!

i think it would be awesome to have a section where we could discuss everything from grassroots (i.e. the Shady Car Club of America) to pro like FIA GT, IMSA, ALMS, CART, F1, MotoGP, World SBK, etc.

I would love to see a racing section to post events and news.  I also am new to the racing scene (legal anyways <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/devil.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':devil:'> )  And would love a place to discuss technique and car setup.

I am very glad to see that people are backing me on this. I figured i might get yelled at for making my first poste a demanding one like that. I have actually been visiting this forum for quite a while, just never posted until my car started to have some problems.

I am also a new member over at the nissanforums, and they have a really good motorsport section, that is real friendly and responsive. I am posative that Zilvia members will be just a polite and informative as they are...IF NOT BETTER!

Umm... Anyone else see the funny part to Marketplayer was shoo'd away from this board for ripping off people.  Then a newbie with a post comes up, someone applauds him, and Marketplayer takes the graces.
Could mabey a Mod do a IP check, so nobody gets ripped off by "DamnedbutDetermined", possibly AKA "MarketPlayer".

I checked the IP's before I posted above, they are infact different.  But I know I have daily access to the internet at 3 different locations, so that doesn't mean much.  Also, marketplayer has AOL, I know every time he signs on, he'll have a different IP address.

You are close...I am Marketplayers friend in Orlando, Ethan. I was over at his apartment a few days ago, and I forgot to switch names. He is the one who introduced me to this website.

Oh yeah, Jeff240sx,
I was told a little bit about your situation, and it is fucked up what happened. About three days before he was supposed to buy the tailights and ship them to you, he got arrested for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. To make the long long long, story short, he was trying to keep a friend (who was buying stolen parts) from danger and the dumbasses he was buying it from were extremely stupid. The cops ended up showing up, and he and the other guy got arrested for Grand Theft Auto & Dealing in Stolen Property. He had nothing to do with the G.T.A. and has been working around with his attorney and the police to catch the real bad guys.
Not exactly short but it gives you an idea of what he is going through. He has massive Lawyer bills and is in the middle of getting hirred for a good job, and will be paying you back ASAP. If anything else happens then i will ty and relay the information to you. Zac doesn't visit the forms anymore, b/c he had to sell his 240 to pay for the lawyer, so it would be pointless to keep visiting. I will keep bugging him to pay you back.

Maybe a motorsports forum with sub categories such as, Auto X, Drifting, Drag, and whatever else there is, and you can discuss difrent techniques and what not in them.....

I second...or 19th that motion! I think it would be a really good idea to have a motorsports section as long as people would post there. I know the one at freshalloy is kind of abandoned. I posted there a couple of times and the replies are really slow and hard to come by at all. I say just lump them all into the same motorsports forum, without different sections. Or at least start off that way, so we don't end up with any sections having just dead threads.

Also, I'm interested in different types of motorsports and would rather click on one link to see the threads about all of them, instead of having to go to the different sections.

This would also be better for topics that deal with two different categories (such as (1) drift events on (2) track days).

mixing any form of illegal racing stuff (street racing/drifting) with legal racing stuff (roadracing/auto-x) is a bad idea...just asking for trouble.  I'd almost want a street racing forum, just keep it all in there so I don't have to bother myself with it.  I'd never stumble upon a topic and after reading it fell I should post something stupid because I would simply never enter the forum.  We'd all be happier, I wouldn't feel the need to bitch and you wouldn't hear me bitch...

Since when has drifting been illegal? <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'> One can get plenty of legal track drift time if one were bothered to find out when/where events are being held, and I resent that drifting is being labelled as "illegal" right off the bat.

Granted, drift (something I've never tried... at least not until Dec. 7) is still nowhere near as big here as grip (as it has become in Japan), but I feel that it's a legitimate style/event/race and that it should, in its legal form, be treated as any other race track/organized event.

I think having a street racing forum would make Zilvia.net seem welcoming for street racers. I'd rather they just stay at SRO or TorqueSpeed or whatever.

We could have the mods lock any thread in the Motorsports forum that's about illegal stuff. If someone really wants to post about something they did illegally, they should just post in the Chat forum where anything goes.

There's no arguing with that, though. Drift definitely wouldn't fit in with autoX/road race... I was over at his apartment a few days ago, and I forgot to switch names. He is the one who introduced me to this website. Oh yeah, Jeff240sx, I was told a little bit about your situation, and it is fucked up what happened. About three days before he was supposed to buy the tailights and ship them to you, he got arrested for being at the wrong place at the wrong time. To make the long long long, story short, he was trying to keep a friend (who was buying stolen parts) from danger and the dumbasses he was buying it from were extremely stupid. The cops ended up showing up, and he and the other guy got arrested for Grand Theft Auto & Dealing in Stolen Property. He had nothing to do with the G.T.A. and has been working around with his attorney and the police to catch the real bad guys. Not exactly short but it gives you an idea of what he is going through. He has massive Lawyer bills and is in the middle of getting hirred for a good job, and will be paying you back ASAP. If anything else happens then i will ty and relay the information to you. Zac doesn't visit the forms anymore, b/c he had to sell his 240 to pay for the lawyer, so it would be pointless to keep visiting. I will keep bugging him to pay you back. DbD
