IF what your wondering is if there is any adverse or negative effects to having an auto ecu behind a manual equipped car. I have the same set up in my car and have no issues whatsoever. That is except the rev limiter in 5th gear which as far as I understand is similar to the manual ecu.

I ran a #63 on my car for about 4 years with no noticeable issues. I've read that when you lift the throttle on a 63 equipped car, the revs will take a few seconds to drop but I don't think I ever experienced it. If you are planning on flashing the ECU at some point, it's a non-issue anyways because they can load on the manual trans software at that point.

I am running a 63 ecu on a notchtop sr haha
The only thing that an automatic ecu actually effects is this weird rpm hanging effect when you let it out to neutral in any gear or if you let it fall. If your cruising in 5th and just drop it into neutral, the car won't drop to idle, it will be like 1300-1400 rpm until you slow down enough, then it will drop to normal. Happens at any speed above like 2 mph if you leave a gear. It doesn't really effect anything and helps in low rpm driving actually. |
