No but you really ought to do more useful research before giving out whack info which a lot of people in our generation seem to lack. |

I've talked with Odi (the owner) on the phone and he really knows what he's doing. He can re-valve almost all of the cheapo coilovers to perform a lot better, and runs his coils on his Formula D comp car, which looks really well composed on the track IMO.
They also take the time to ask how much your car weighs, how you like your suspension to feel, and your driving style. I'll be ordering my coils soon. Sorry, that was more of a general statement not directed at anyone in particular.

I'm not sure where their components come from, I'm sure you can call or e-mail and ask.

coils aren't meant to be slapped on and ran hard. theres something called preload and damping. they need to be tuned to work to your liking. just because a friends car feels like crap doesn't mean anything. |

I had megan streets for about a month and they were brutal. ran megan tracks for 4 years and they were decent but really rough. this year i switch to the fortune auto 510s with swift springs and they are amazing. my car has never felt better

My brother had gp sports coilovers on his 180sx when he got it in from Japan. They were by far the best coilovers I have ridden on including Megan crap, silk roads, teins, cusco, stance
Teins are by far the biggest piles of shit in my opinion worst ride all round. Bought them brand new for my skyline and was so disappointed I sold them 2 weeks after to buy silk roads

I would suggest buying used quality coilovers at that price. I got my tein superdrifts for $800.
If you MUST have brand new and absolutely cannot spend more than $900, Megans aren't too bad. I ran on them for about a year and never had any issues. They are super stiff. Nowhere near as good as my teins though |

not sure what your money situation is like but if youre working you should honestly save up even justtt another $200...My pbm were like $1050 shipped (maybe 1150?) and those were great.
i had hks hipermax III on my previous s14 and those were in my opinion the best ive had. but like a lot are saying, its all preference man. some feel like they handle well but driving around town is a bitch and vice versa... capitalist society man, you normally get what you pay for here as a base for your decision making. |

Then again, this is also coming from someone supporting a freakin' strut & spring combo Quote:
The only thing I'd ever replace my Teins with would be some ZEAL (not FEAL, kids) Functions, or something less common like HKS/aforementioned GP Sports.

This thread is still open?
Your opinion became void as soon as you said... And what's all of this about Tein? Tein is overpriced for what they are. As for dampening characteristics, Super Drifts can be a little bit on the stiff side but they handle a lot better than Megans,ISIS. But for the price you'll be paying for them, you may as well get something better like PBM or Fortunes with Swifts or whatever everybody likes these days. |

^^^The thing about Teins is that they are valve for smoother japanese roads. You use them on the states, specially the more aggressively valved Super Drifts, they are too bouncy for US roads. At the other end of it, the Tein Flex, the spring rates are super soft and I think are some of the better coilover as a daily.
Anyways, I just ordered some Fortune Auto 500s with 12/9k Swifts. We'll see how much better they are compared to my Topline Aragostas (which will be for sale in a couple of weeks). |
