so for everyone that says you can't get good coils for less than $900, you're idiots. my friend just got a set of barely used stance gr+'s for $700. the guy bought them new about a year ago, put them on his car and drove it around for about a month. then went to school and left the car parked in a garage. he needed money so he sold them. just because something is expensive new, doesn't mean you can't get a good deal on them used. people just can't wait to flame someone for asking a simple question

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Feal 411 coilovers. Odi is a cool guy and knows how to properly valve coilovers.

Feal Suspension, Inc. - Feal 441 Coilover kit (Nissan)

Other than that, Fortune or PSM pro coils. I don't think Stance are anything special.

Don't cheap out. Why does everyone need everything so fast? Wait, have some patience, and you'll realize how much better off you are after you have a nice car with nice parts.

Damnit, Florida.

Yeah, we're idiots for wanting to buy new with warranties/free rebuilds. I could very easily clean up a set of coilovers, brand it "barely used/ scratches from installation wear", and sell it as such.

Stance coils? Lol.

Oh & do you want a cookie for your friend scoring on "barely used" coilovers?

majority of people on this forum just want to do whatever it takes to dump their car as low as it will go.

if you are looking for performance, you have to pay for it, if you dont care, any of the cheaper brands with a warranty will do. if you want quality and actually engineered performance, tein is probably your best bet, i regret not buying from them for my first street setup. Function Form has a really good warranty as well, but its the same chinese made coilover as anything youll find under 1400 short of tein or apexi.

other than that, you really need to just deal with your stock ride height car and wait until you save enough pennies for the good stuff like fortune if you want something quality.

or if you dont care about dumping your car on its frame, and care more about performance, all of these coilovers are junk in terms of dampening when compared to konis. add Ground Control sleeves and eibach springs, and then you have a big boy's suspension.

it wont be dorifto cool, but its a setup that has been proven time and time again on the track by scca national champions for its performance and reliability.

Quoted for truth. Koni/GC combination is definitely the best bang for your buck perfomrance. I worked with Motion Control suspension on other cars and they literally will change how your car feels and how one feels about suspension. However, they're freaken $6000 coilover system.

A couple problems with your post sir.

1. Teins are junk if they aren't custom valved. If you've ever driven a car with Super Drifts or Basics, you know what I'm talking about.

2. Apex'i is made by BC, who also makes BC Racing and Megan, to name a few. BC is based in Taiwan, not China.

I'll third the Koni/GC setup though

Stance arent crap coilovers... Theyre up there with Fortune and PBM. Stewart Leask trusts them enough to run them on his S13, so I think you can trust them to be good enough to run on your street cars.

Tein is over rated.... Ugly too.

Can't wait till these come in, so I can give an honest opinion. I've driven 2 S14s with these coilovers and they were great. But they were friends cars so I didn't wanna slide them.

If you call anything between 1-1.5k top of the line your kidding yourself. They're just telling him that for 900 you're not even getting budget coils. I bought PBMs. Thats being cheap compared to top of the line .

You bought the comp coils. Your comparison to your shitty ebay stuff will be "These are hella stiffer than my old junk but the stiffness makes me think that these are giving me added performance benefits."

Pro's and Comp's are entirely different & feel different. The only way I can see you remedying this is by increasing the spring rate while revalving to something way softer. But at that point, you should have gone with Pro's instead of Comp's.

This entire thread is full of entry level coilovers. And I'll never understand why people knock on "brand names". What is wrong with a company that is known with great prices and service to their products?

You get what you pay for, folks.

Fair enough, my experience with tein is custom valved ones, did not know that about the basics.

As for apexi, i thought they were still japanese based production, oops.

For my next coils im trying to decide on going koni/gc or fortune...

this right here, thats what i did i got lucky enough to get a set of used kei office type gu's in incredible condition for my s14 for 950 shipped and they ride better than most, my friend who has cusco zero 2r's even likes them better.

i dont know why people are saying its beyond the realm of human capability and understanding to acquire a decent coilover setup for 900. i passed on deals for almost 2 years before i decided on buying these and im glad i did. not going to say theyre perfect because no suspension setup is for this price range, but they are just damn good for the streets and for going sideways

Comps don't feel bad although Im sure they're a hell of a lot stiffer than pros though. Are the pro's a still stiff compared to other coils?
