Metallic sound from rotating transmission input shaft

I decided to reseal the transmission due to leaks on my 93 240sx 5spd with KA. After sealing the bell housing and tail section, I rotated the input shaft manually and noticed this pinging noise. It sounds like a thin metal is scraping something. Is this normal?

It didn't make this noise when I had the gear train out of the housings. I wanna make sure everything is right before putting the tranny back on.

Update: I figured out the issue. It seems the gear was slightly rubbing the metal oil gutter that's attached to the adapter plate. I was able press against the gutter with my finger through the filler plug and it dampened the noise a lot. Either I nicked the oil gutter when I was dropping the transmission into the bell housing or there is a slight misalignment because I don't have have the front input shaft cover with the snaps rings or shims installed yet.
