clutch pedal dropping to floor, sticking in gear?

my clutch pedal no longer bounces back up. it just drops to the floor.. and what's worse, it sticks in gear. i can't shift- the car is sitting on the side of the road right now. sorry i didn't search, please don't flame me, but i'm a delivery driver and just had someone pick me up, and i'm going to go back out and use their car, and if i could have a solid answer by the time i get off work, that'd be killer. there IS clutch fluid in the reservoir. it's full, actually. wtf is going on?

Which reservoir did you checked?
the clutch reservoir is the small one beside the brake reservoir. It sticks to the firewall at the very edge of the engine bay.

Im gonna have to guess that its either your slave clutch cylinder, master clutch cylinder, or it might just be that your line(small leak) is sucking in air and you have bubbles of air in your clutch lines.

If its your slave cylinder, check it down there and see if any fluid is dripping. Also check your damper box while you're down there and see if you can find any leaks.

if its your master clutch cylinder, check for leaks on your driver side cabin floor under the clutch pedal.

If its your line, check for any leaks and tighen what needs to be tighten, replace the rubber line if thats where the leak is coming from, and bleed the system.

well thats almost all of the possibilities. Good luck.

Check the actuator rod behind the clutch pedal, this rod connect the pedal to the clutch master cylinder. It has a U shaped bracket on the end, see if that is broken, my pedal wouldn't go back up when I broke that U-shaped bracket. Good luck.

replace the rubber slave line w/ a ss braided one. and if it turns out to be the mc or sc you might aswell change both at the same time.

most likley your pedal assembly broke its bracket, very very common...

take it out weld it back to gether and reinforce it with some more metal ;D! put a strut bar and a roll cage on it.

Bleed your Clutch line and your Dampner. I had the same exact thing happen to me and all I needed was to bleed the lines. On a 1995 240sxse they are under the passenger side door where you will see two male bleed fittings. Hope this helps.

mine did that and it was the slave cylinder, which you can rebuild for 3 bucks or replace for less than 20.
