I just want to get my brakes cleaned up / prepped for powder coat and don't know where I should take them. Also would like to drive out to the Thursday meet sometime and meet some of you guys o_0

You could possibly buy a car with SR swapped for around $3.5k plus some modifications.

Then i don't even know what i would do with my shell. but i guess it could be an option. I was really looking to learn lots along the way, so i would prefer to do the swap myself. (with some help) ANd no, I don't think he even has my #.

I lived in Japan for 4 years...from what I've seen, people throw away RB20s. FACT!!! I've seen more SR20 equipped cars that originally had RB20s in them than anything else or upgraded to an RB25/26.

There is a few different rb20s, yes id throw the 80s 160hp version in the trash too lol. Either way, we are all cool here now, no need to stir up b.s please.

Well it's true not B.S. When I lived in Japan most of people with stock RB20 swap out for SR a lot for many reason which it was 215ps RB20.

i.e Laurel, Cefiro, GTS-T

Also correct me if I am wrong. There is only 1 kind of RB20det with 215ps. Weather it came out in 80s or 90s. The one you were talking about is RB20ET with 170ps.


But that doesnt mean it's a "turd" LOL.

Rb20det, there is redtop and silvertop versions, also rb20det-r, which only 800 of them were produced.

i think 4 different versions all together.

The only times I've seen people still rocking RB20s in their cars were on drift missiles. From what I've been told, its because they simply wont fucking die no matter the amount of abuse they put the damn things thru. I knew one guy who bought an R32 missile, never changed the oil in it, was driving it with almost no oil on the dipstick, literally trying to blow the engine up so he got a reason to do something else, the RB20 wont give him that satisfaction. SR20s are the opposite, something happens to it oil related, it goes kablooooey!!!.

anyway.... i picked up a top mount turbo setup for my turd bucket...vip performance looks like a good shop if it already hasnt been mentioned. They were real helpful and even stayed an hour late for me to pick up the turbo.



i do not plan on running the hks filter, ive read too many horror stories...
