Cool 1970 240z L28/5 speed, coilovers, stripped.

Bought this car about 2 years ago with dreams of bringing it to CA. Well this past thanksgiving I got the car running and it just seemed like it was too much work, especially with me now living in Iowa. The car was stored at my Uncles and was run regularly up until about a year ago, then it sat for a good 8-9 months, but this past thanksgiving was up and running again. From that it seems to have developed a loud ticking, because a lash pad popped out.

Anyway, the car was stripped down by the previous owner for scca. It has Modern motorsports coilovers, MSD 6AL box for ignition, and an L28 (F54/p79 head) with some roundtop su carbs and ITG filters. Interior is just two corbeau racing seats, some harnesses and a reinforced strut tower brace for the harnesses. The steering column is stripped, and the ignition key is in a plate in the center console. Car has a close ratio 5 speed swap. Currently car has some 14" centerlines on it with 10yr old tires, so you will probably need new tires or your own wheels. Car has autometer tach, volt, temp and gas, but gas does not work, and I think the temp has the wrong resistance or sensor in since it seems to bounce around. The headlight switch works, but isn't wired to the rear lights, brake lights work and hazards work. There are no turn signals wired in. Most of the wiring was taken out by the PO, and he rewired what he needed to have working. Because of this, car will either need to be driven during the day if you're ballsey or trailored.

As for the body, it's straight except for a dented up rear wheel arch. Didn't care about that since I was going to use flares. Its also painted a flat black. There is surface rust in the floor boards, but no holes as far as I could tell while I was out there. The frame rails aren't beat, but it looks like someone used them as a jacking point. Also the Surge tank seems to have been removed, and a whole lot of hosing put in place so it properly can be filled up. Not sure why the PO did that.

Anyway, like I said I'm in Iowa, but you will contact me until I know you're serious so I'll give you the address and phone number to my uncle. Price is $2200 and non negotiable. May consider partial trade for sr20 parts or wheels.

Car is in scottsdale, AZ. Text me at 818-919-4242 for the fastest response. Yes you can come and check it out and hear it run/startup. My Uncle is mostly available weekends. I don't really check this site anymore
