What size z32 BMC

I have heard mixed opinion on what size bore z32 brake master cylinder I should run with my s13, which includes; FRONT: z32 4 pot 30 mm aluminum front brakes with porterfield pads, brembo blank rotors, steal braided brake lines REAR: stock calipers, porterfield pads, slotted dimpled rotors. This car will see the track as often as possible so i don't mind if its fairly aggresive, i have raced go karts in the past, which breaks lock up instantly with a bit a of extra pressure if that gives anyone anymore help.

Doesn't matter really. As long as its a z32 BMC, it will be a great improvement over the stock 240 one.

well if you ever plan on upgrading to z32 rears in the future you might as well get a 17/16" now.

few? there are only two. 17/16 and 1 inch. Either one will work fine. The 17/16 is only 1/16 bigger so obviously not going to notice it a whole lot. So like I said as long as its a z32, you will be fine.

You can run an Auto S14 BMC and booster as well. I would just get the 17/16", if you ever do want to upgrade to the rears, it's already done. Make sure you get one with the fitting already installed.

that fitting.

if you are 100% sure you're never going to upgrade your rear brakes then a 1" will be fine. but still, might as well get a 17/16. it won't be that overly aggressive and you will get used to it quick, plus have the option to upgrade brakes later.

The stock 7/8" BMC is alot more powerful then the Z32 1 1/16" BMC, some people dont like using the stock 7/8" BMC because it has more slop and over boost the brakes.

The 1" Z32 BMC is a good choice IMHO you can also use the 15/16" this is the size I ended up running, these will both give you less slop in the pedal and will require more leg effort to bring the car down to a stop.

The 1 1/16" BMC, I dont like this BMC for shit, the brake pedal is to damn stiff and you really have to get on the brake hard to bring the car down to a stop.

If your runing a dual diaphram brake booster like you should be in the first place the larger BMC works better. I know alot of people thing the biogger the BMC the better the brake, NOT!

BMC = Brake Master Cylinder

p.s. The Z32 used the 15/16", 1" and 1 1/16" throughout the years

Damn, talk about spoon feeding the kid. Run what the s14 and s15 silvias do, BM50 (1"). I suggest upgrading your brake booster as well.

dude, have you not done an ounce of research? read the deffinite 300zx brake thread. seriously, shits been asked before and answered countless times.

Few to almost no z32 bmc will come with that fitting (15/16 will probably have it though as they were offered in non-abs cars).

Other option is a z31 bmc. It's 1", has the fitting, it's common, and fairly cheap.

I believe if any are to have the fitting in the middle port it will be made by NABCO IIRC, I just sold a 1 1/16" that had the fitting and i believe it was also a NABCO unit but dont quote me.

funny, im running a 17/16" Z32 MC and I fucking love the stiff pedal. Mind you the car was auto so it has the larger booster, but I wouldnt mind an even stiffer pedal.

Maybe I'll pickup a manual booster for even stiffer porsche-like pedal feeling............ ;-)

crazy to see that people DONT like stiff pedals. whats next, people are gonna complain about tight twats in the near future. god help us.

rofl!

on my hatch i run r33 brembos front and rear, dba 4000 rotors with hawk hps pads. i'm also using a 17/16 bmc with the manual booster and super blue.

honestly after the whole swap, and bedding in the pads, the pedal feels barely stiffer if not the same to me.

the car stops amazingly well though, i'm very pleased with the setup.

well i'm going to quote the dba catalog directly. there's tons of posts out there with incorrect rotor sizing imo.

r33 gtr front - 324 x 30mm
r33 gtr rear - 300 x 22mm

z32 front - 280 x 30mm (or 26mm obviously)
z32 rear - 297 x 18mm

mike i'm going to pm you the rest along with some pics in a bit. we're already sidetracking the thread as the op's question has already been answered numerous times!
