Old Recaro Seats - looking for info
Hey guys, so i just picked up a 1989 Silvia and it came with these old school Recaro Seats.
I tried searching for info on this model but could only find a couple images on google. The seats say "Renoma Paris" on the back rest. The sticker on the bottom of the seat has a date of June 1990 and says made in West Germany. They are pretty worn out but i'd like to keep them, i love the basket weave headrests. Does anyone have info on these, an old Recaro catalog with these in them maybe or know if there is any way to find this fabric to reupholster the seats? All i've found is this link to a site that sold a pair in the past https://www.get-jpn.com/products/rec...ls-b-seat-pair Thanks for any info

Those are Recaro Renoma Paris LS-B's. Renoma refers to the pattern, the LS-B is the style seat. You can get them in different patterns.
See a few other patterns here: https://www.get-jpn.com/collections/seats |

Thanks! I'd love to find somewhere that has a roll of that fabric so i can redo the seats. I'm sure it's a long shot tho.

TBH you might look into what VW dudes would pay for those, in original condition, before you do anything to the fabric.
might be worth something. then again might now. worth looking into tho. |

More reupholster places have some special chemicals and steam cleaners that may be able to restore them to a more presentable condition, too. Or get one of those hand held mini carpet cleaner things. That may even be better.

Renoma Paris was a thing in the old 'small wheel' days. They catered to a lot of that genre that wanted something periodically correct but also stylish - exactly what the French were known for. They slapped their name on everything - including doing work with Italvolanti, SSR and Recaro. It's not TOO uncommon to see something with their name on it but it is decently uncommon to see something last that long and not be worn in one way or another.
The only chassis I see those making sense in would be an AE86. To me, that's what that seat belongs in. Or a MKIII Supra, I suppose. Something boxy and old. |

well i bought one of those Bissel Spot Pro Cleaners and did a few passes on the seats. It definitely sucked out some brown water but the fabric is just too worn to look new. It felt like it was falling apart while cleaning it so i didnt want to scrub too hard. but here is how they look now.
