Not much has been going on lately. A few changes.

Couldn't decide on wings, but ultimately went with the Veilside. Been watching Initial D again, so decided to paint the wing blade.

Ordered the wrong KR20's. 245/40's vs 235/45's. I'll see if I can massage the fenders a little to get them to fit. They aren't rolled yet, and I do have some rubbing issues.

Being for an FD, I was shocked that the fitment was a good as it was.

Also got some new canards, and tried color matching them to give balance F/R.

My extinguisher came loose and went off in my car during one of my runs, at the last event, so I securely mounted it, and cleaned the entire car. That sucked, but its way cleaner now. Still waiting on my passenger seat bracket to come so I can throw in another bucket.

Also took the time to organize the garage - such an underrated feeling. It's so nice rolling into the garage and actually having space, LOL.

HKS filter was dirty, so ordered up a replacement on Ebay. Cool thing is they come in tons of different colors. I opted for a Red, 3-layer this time around.

I saw a killer how-to on YouTube about how to detail your engine bay, and I really need to get around to doing it.

While changing the filter, I noticed a vacuum line coming from the manifold was just hanging out, torn. I was wondering why the car was so sluggish lately. Time to go over all the vacuum lines! #Fun

Scheduled a tune for January. Since I have a gnarly manifold to turbo exhaust leak (gasket is donezo), I'll be pulling the factory turbo and installing the HKS 2530 Kai. Going to run GTR injectors (and the resistor pack) as well as a Walbro! This will all be tuned with Nistune. I'm shooting for 275-300whp, and a nice midrange. If I have time before hand, I'm going to try and do some drop in PonCams as well.

R32 headlights suck, and it turns out, I have an early model and late model R32 headlights. One of each...awesome. I used to do this with 3000GT VR4 headlights, and I figured I'd make mine look like GTR N1 headlights since they're way more badass. Pulled them off, and tossed them in the oven..

Crazy what a little soap and water will do..

Disassembled everything and gave it a few coats of Hi-Temp BBQ Paint in Satin Black.

Buffed, polished and protected the glass. I really want the clear lenses, so I may go with those soon. But, of course my dumbass breaks one of the inner headlight housings, so I am doing something unique with the broken side (pics soon).

And how they look mocked up..

LONG UPDATE:

PART 1 of 3

Been a super busy January, felt like 3 months combined into 1 month. Started out 2019 with some driving...finally. Felt good to get back behind the wheel and the 32 feels great with some added angle from the Rack Spacers. Rear Camber needs some help, so I grabbed some cheap adjustable arms that'll go in soon.

Anyways, something between my current power level and gearing just isn't working for the Meihan Track Layout we've been running. Since this won't be my end power level, I'm going to swap on the HKS 2530, GTR Pump, Boost Controller and Spit Fire Coilpacks first. Monitoring AFR's, I'll be able to get a little more out of the car before deciding if I want to go basic piggyback or something more involved like a Apexi PFC, and adding GTR Injectors/Resistor Pack.

My goal is 280whp and a great mid-range. Pon Cams may be added later on.

Early mornings at the track > everything else.

After a few laps, I felt like I'd never left. I was able to work on a few things I've been meaning to try and dial in better, and by the end of the day, I was so happy to feel like I progressed a bunch (in my own head). The morning session started off wet, but as soon as the sky opened up a little and sessions were drying the track, it was game on!

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about keeping the 32, but after the Rack Spacers, 2way and 245's in the rear, I absolutely love it all over again. The simplest mod changes, make the biggest difference.

It was super fun getting into good rhythm with some other drivers! I love chasing so much more than leading! Adapting to their lines, their initiations...it's so fun!

PART 2

As the day moved on, my driving got better and better and I was really feeling good. I just really love chasing, lol.

Only went through one set of KR20's, but man, having the 245's on there and fighting grip means lots of foot work. It's so much fun!!

PART 3

Back to back weekends. So much fun! I love this car too because I can just throw tires and gas at it and drive it. Some issues with blowout when I hot lap too much though, but I think the Spit Fires & fresh plugs will help that.

Sprayed my spare wheels, got some fresh KR20's and loaded up the car. I have the worst luck with fire extinguishers and when I was done packing the car, I closed the trunk and pshhhhhhhhhh... I walked away wondering what it was, then saw the smoke coming from the trunk lid. EVERYTHING I PACKED WAS COVERED. It sucked.

Arrived early and loaded in!

This event was our first Novice Clinic & a lot of fun, tons of beginner progression and of course some aggressive driving was had. I learned a lot this event. I need more power/grip (see first post). I just couldn't quite keep up with a JZ/4.6 combo coming onto the front straight. As soon as we hit 3rd he'd gap me and I'd have to shallow out my entry to dive in. So, a little power first, then more grip (265/35/18) and I always have a 4.6 gears for backup. We'll see, but I'm excited to test all these stages out in the next coming months.

It was tough chasing this US Drift S14 (reasons above), but it definitely opened my eyes to a few things. I can't wait to see how the car feels after next months event!

In the end of the day, regardless of all the details, it's still about having fun with friends!

Regarding tires;

FRONT: Kenda KR20 235/40/17 2.4bar

REAR: Kenda KR20 245/40/17 2.4-2.1bar depending on solo laps or chasing

These last so damn long, so it's hard NOT to use them. I run them exclusively when I'm in Japan, and they never fail. Super consistent, unbelievable wear and life, and just overall very predictable. I know I can trust the car 100% with these tires under it meaning it's going to do exactly as I want it to.

When I make do the swap to the HKS 2530, I'll go to a 265/35/18 in the rear. No need for KR20A's yet.

I love talking about tires, and pressures, and setups, so would love to hear peoples feedbacks etc.

Thanks JIMB0!

I really am enjoying it now. It’s at the point where I can just keep up with maintainable, put gas in and new tires on, and go drive! It’s a good feeling.

Your new S13 build looks super fun!

S13 is fun to tinker with now that the R32 is just maintenance. Keeps my hands busy LOL

Been trying to do as much driving as I can lately!

Currently doing 4.6 gearing because I'm tired of getting gapped on the straight by spooly boi SR's with 4.3/4.6. The RB has no bottom end, LOL.

Other than that, the car remains the same. Just tires, fluids and nut & bolt checks!

Adding a few things to the car.

GKtech high-clearance sway bar
URAS Off-set Tie Rod Ends/Tie Rod supports
PS Cooler/Oil Cooler

Everything has been closed, so not much seat-time besides simulator.

PS 4.6 feels amazing.

Ended up losing 3rd gear with a misshift/short-shift to 3rd, oops! Swapped it out with a new one - luckily found it local and traded a SR trans.

Developed a misfire only during feints, so maybe a loose ground or clogged injector. AFR's look good, and plugs are good. Getting fuel, but maybe stopping at the injectors. Weird that it only happens when I load up the right side.

Swapped from RSR all around to KR20A 300tw and happy so far. Grip is good, definitely not as responsive as the 220 RSR's, but still have some suspension tweaks to optimize it.

Not really much to update. Will load some pics later.
