saw an amusing FRS/BRZ on way home from work yesterday...had front plate relocation with oil cooler mounted there instead of front plate...super low and on far left hand side of vehicle...not sure if a good speed bump would munch it up real fast

The fella originally posted it for 16k and dropped it down to 15k just to sweeten the deal for any prospective new owner. What a guy. |

Why? Odyvia's are actually quite enjoyable to look at. The headlights are just sharp enough to make it work and it's a more modern-esque take on the bricks.
Purists will never be able to think outside of the box which is a great limitation. You must be one of those guys that sees a concept - no matter what it's for - and just shits on it because it doesn't look like a 90's shit box spewing engine oil all over the ground knocking like a kid on Halloween. |

The only kit they work with OTS, IMO, is Spirit Rei (both the dedicated Restored/Mastermind Odyvia [correct me with the kit name] and the Miyabi). Even then, certain lines aren't quite right when thinking about design holistically. |

its the simple fact of slapping a honda front end (mostly) onto a Nissan that irks me. sorry, but not sorry, growing up in the early days of honda guys putting every japanese brand of headlight and taillights on their cars was something i was hoping had been left in the past... but NOPE!!! it some how leaked over to the s-chassis... and jesus wept.
hell, the S14 Rocket Bunny BOSS kit is an atrocity all its own. i thought it was like a rule for the longest time to keep NISSAN front ends on NISSANS!!! like the old school S30 Z front end conversion for the hatch... that was actually cool. i guess in modern times... those rules are long gone. *shrugs* |

The S14 Boss kit is gross, we agree. That weird shit that Top Secret does with Supras is mostly in shit taste, too. But the Odyvia isn't like it completely morphed the front end to something where it isn't recognizable anymore. It - to me - makes it a little more modern and while the headlights are a little more curved along the bottom, overfenders achieve the same thing - it makes a box look curved. If you can't see how the Honda lights compliment this then this argument will go nowhere. If the purist in you is just saying it's blasphemous because you are one of those weird people who still think 15's are the perfect wheel size for a S-chassis then this argument is going nowhere, again.

15" wheels have their ups and downs. i prefer 17s or 18s... and thats only if u upgrade the brakes as we are all aware, factory S13 brakes are garbage on anything above 15" wheels.

lol ok i guess... but i still think Odyvia is turrible. Honda lights dont belong on Nissans. Just like Lexus lights dont belong on a Honda and Supra taillights dont belong on a Mitsubishi.

Anything can work on anything if it doesn't destroy the overall aesthetic. You're making it seem like they're wildly different. They really aren't. I'd love to see the size difference between the brick/corner light together compared to the Odyssey light side-by-side.

I wasn't really approaching it from a DIW perspective, only from the "it doesn't thematically fit" perspective. A well-executed Odyvia is not DIW, at least in the aesthetic sense. In terms of functionality, were those Odyssey headlights available in LHD cut-off?
