Heyas,

Quick question for S13 tire fitment. Have a completely stock Silvia coupe.

I found a clean set of Advans 16x7 +30 (front) and 16x 8 +30 (rear)

Looking for all-season tires but stuck on sizes. I know some of these are difficult to find, but any advice on what would offer a nice look?

And secondly, a (12mm) spacer in front would probably widen the wheelbase, but would I see a difference in traction, or would this lead to other concerns?

Thank you so much for your time/input.

RPF1 Wheel Fitment S14

Hey guys, I have done my research and I wanted to verify that what I am going to do it correct.

My wheels are RPF1 17x9.5 +18

I want tires that will require the least amount of body work (rolling or pulling)

Tires that I will be getting bases on my research:

Front: 225/40/R17 Rear 255/40/R17.
Based on my research, I am not sure if I should do 225 or 235 in the front. I did some calculations and I believe that the 225 tire would be stretched to much. Thanks in advance for the advice.

^225/40r17 is difficult to come by. 225/255 would look kinda awkward since the front would be stretched and the rear would be square. i'd suggest either running 235 front or just going 255 all around if you like that meaty look.

Hey Thanks for the quick reply.
What do you think about 235 front and 245 rear?
Would that clear my fenders?

Thanks for the advise. Any recommendations on what should I do if I don’t want to roll the fenders? Different tire size or different wheel specs?
Thanks

a fender roll is not that invasive to your car... its necessary most times.

if you ever wanna run anything decently sized you're going to need to roll your fenders. there are probably a dozen people in chicago who can roll your fenders for like $100.

i dont know why, but im starting to see more and more people who dont want to roll fenders (not just on zilvia). its not like its a big deal. youre going to have to roll them now, or after you have tires that have been chewed through, just roll the god damn fenders now and be over with it.

I wanted to research all the options I have before I commit to rolling my fenders.
My car currently has 36,000 miles and has never been repainted or seen salt. As a car enthusiast....I want to preserve the natural beauty in this car. However, I am willing to roll the fenders if I don’t come to any potential solutions.
I appreciate your advice.

that makes more sense now. with that said, you may be better off getting another one if you dont want to mod your 36k chassis.

ROLLING and PULLING are two different stories. rolling simply flattens the lip on the inside of the fender so the tire wont catch it. usually, if no bondo or shitty bodywork has been done and a heat gun is used, no other body/paint work will need to be done. pulling is when you massage the fender metal to make more clearance, which in some cases cause fenders/quarter panels to warp, dimple, or paint to crack or flake. if you don't want to roll the fenders, then don't bother even modifying the car.

Alright guys need some help with tire size selection. Wheels are 18x9+22 on a stock metal s13 Silvia with just a roll and no pull.

1. Do I run 35 or 40 series sidewall upfront, and for the rear do I do 35 or 40?
2. I assume 225/235 is what I should run as far as tire widths.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

And what tire size and wheel specs are in the photo and are fenders rolled

If this should be in another thread please feel free to move it

235 40 front 255 40 on the rear... Will fill out perfect if it's rolled

I don't think this is correct. Remember its an s13 silvia coupe. That would need a pull for sure and wont fit with just a roll. Maybe with some crazy camber, but that defeats the purpose of running such a big tire.

Can anyone else help?

yeah uh those are kinda beefcake-spec. really a lot of variables like height, camber, and car use to take into account. if it's not tucking tire and just gonna be used for grip, 225/40, 235/40 will be fine. if it's tucking tire, 225/35, 225/40. if it's tucking and you're trying to drift, 215/35, 225/40. probably going to need a 5-10mm spacer up front to clear coilovers (if you have them).

Not exactly the specs you're inquiring about, but my rears are estimated +25 on a 17x10. Stock sheet metal with Navan side skirts. I have photos posted in the ZENKI Love thread if it'll help.

I'm sure this has been answered in a search somewhere, so feel free to flame me for my noob question. Have a s13 hatch. Just switched to five lugs, and just need some shit wheels to ride around on for the moment. Tried the spares I have for my 350 (18x8 +40) and the shock sits on top of them. What's the max width I can run without any adjustment to fenders or camber? Looking to run a 17" wheel. A little confused because it seems others have run similar setups without much of an issue.
If other threads have answered this, please shoot me the links.
Thanks everyone.

Most people are also using aftermarket suspension which has a lot more clearance than the factory shock absorber especially up front.

Car used to run 235/40/17 front
i run 18's all around now
still same width and offset (18x10)
I have run a 225/45/17 and not had rubbing issues but I would like to go a tad lower
225/40/18 is a bit taller than 235/40/17
225/35/18 is a bit shorter than 235/40/17

Does anybody know a 225/40 that runs "short" or "squatty"? Not worried about it running wide or true, more concerned about diameter.

I'm overthinking this tremendously but idk maybe i'll learn something new in the process?

Hi Everyone!

Have a serious question about fitment for my 1991 240sx S13 Hatchback (Stock Body). Currently has BC Racing Coilovers with upper camber plates, Front Adjustable Lower Control arms and Tension Arms, new inner/outer tie-rods that are adjustable as well. Car only has 60k Miles on the clock, so most of the stock arms are still in good condition and this is supposed to be more of a fun daily with good fitment. Stock wheels right now, but I have the both the front and rear fenders rolled, but not pulled (could do it if absolutely necessary). And I will be tucking the wiring harness.

(Ive searched as much as I can and as much as my computer legitimately allows)

I have been having trouble deciding (FIRST) Between a 17x9.5 options are +5 and +22 OR an 18x9.5 +22. I am not sure which I want to go with. I would like a little more ground clearance for when I put an aftermarket front bumper and skirts on the car so they're not getting destroyed everywhere, but thats not my biggest worry. WHEEL GAP and having donk fitment are my biggest worries. Im okay with a little camber too.

I know I want a moderate stretch for the tires and thats fine. I know I will have less of a chance of rubbing with the 17 (depending on tire size) but I will most likely be closer to the ground and not have enough clearance for my city roads, unless i get a meatier tire which I don't really want something chonky. If I get the 18's, I would have less wheel gap and it would fill out the wheel-well a little more, but i don't know what tire size to get! Im stuck between a 17x9.5 with 225/45R17 or 235/40R17 ORRRRRRRR an 18x9.5 with a 225/40R18. I would like the setup to be squared so I can rotate tires, since I am in college and would like to try and save a bit of money if I'm going to be running camber and stretch anyway.

I've gone through probably 75% of the pages in this thread to try and get an idea, but I haven't seen many pictures of people running square setups with relatively the same as I'm looking for.
If anyone has an opinions, tips, idea or photos PLEASE respond and let me know.

Not new to the forum, but I think this is either my first or second time actually posting anything on this EVER. Im on a MacBook (which is the only computer I have right now) and the search-forum option is kinda wonky and doesn't always work. I've done as much searching as i can on both here, google, and other general Nissan forums.

Thanks so much!

a good source of info www.rimtuck.com

Camber plays a huge factor into this equation. Closest setup i've run was 17x9+12 stock body on 225/45 and 235/40 all around. Both tire setups work although i prefer the 235/40. On 18" front i'd probably want a 35 sidewall over 40.

Just decide if you want to run 17, 18, or 17/18 stagger before you get too far ahead of yourself. I'd assuming you wouldn't want double stagger since you want to flip tires.

Thank you for your input! I appreciate it. Looking to get as much feedback as I possibly can. I'm thinking that I want to run 18's all the way around since they visually fill the wheel-well a little better and get just the lip of the wheel just a bit closer to the fender. Do you guys think the ride would be exponentially harsher while driving if I choose an 18 instead of a 17? Car would most likely be dailyed for a little while as well.

Also, how bad do you guys think I would rub on the front if I did run a square 18x9.5 +22 (-ish since different wheels have different options) with a 235/40R18? Im okay with some rubbing on the fender, but I'd prefer not to rub on the coilover or inside of the fender-well or bottom out even...

And for anyone that run's 17's and it fairly low, do you run aero and is it so close that it gets in the way a lot?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

Currently looking to get new wheels and my end choice are Enkeis NT03RR.

Now my car is an s14 zenki 95 with kouki sideskirts (https://www.jsai.com.au/wp-content/u...-jsai-aero.jpg). I've got coilovers with camber plates and all I want to do is rolling, no pulling and no spacers.

Currently the setup I'd go would be staggered with 18x9.5 et15 fronts and 18x10.5 et15 back. Would 18x11 et15 fit in the back by any chance? Would this be already a good setup without having to use spacers and roll to much? I'd like to just roll at max 1 inch..

Also how would I calculate myself the space required for brake clearance or distance of the rims etc? Is there any guide or explanation so I can learn a bit of it by myself?

Thanks to whoever reads this for your time

a 10.5 isn't gonna fit without a pull. 18x9.5 +15 all round would be fine. nt03rr isn't going to have any issues clearing any brakes.

I'm overthinking this tremendously but idk maybe i'll learn something new in the process?
https://tyrestretch.com/ is what you are after. if you dont find what you are looking for in 225/40/18, look under 225/40/17. the nice thing about that site is most listings have the actual tire mfg listed.

edit: leave tire and wheel mfg blank to get everything. it looks like there are results for 18s, but no 17s. if you dont find what you are after, the silver lining is you can atleast eliminate some tire mfgs, based on the pictures you find.

Would it be flush in the back without spacers? (yeah I hate spacers)
Would a 18x10 in the back require also pull or a roll would suffice?

Thanks again.

yes it would probably be flush. maybe even poke a bit. depends on hight and camber. x10 could also work, just depends on offset etc. look through the wheel fitment whore thread a bit.
