Yes condenser/ resistor there for ignition system. If not working car will not start or even have any spark. IF goes bad the ignition coil will become extreme hot to point that you cannot touch it. Examine the little condenser/ resistor box by opening it, and see if damage, melted, and see if there resistance on it with multi meter.
