it could be the tension rod bushings too, they are broken on almost every s chassis, except somebody replaced them haha.
they do clunk when you brake, but not always.
just check the subframe bushings and the tension rod bushings, and get solid bushings and aftermarket tension rods.
the car will feel amazing after you did that!
