Crack open the FSM EC section. Everything you need to know is in there about the engine. But to answer your question, it is located basically underneath the midway point of the intake manifold on the block. Ive seen people using taped up coat hangers to reinstall new ones.
Check the following for engine diagnostics before you start replacing things,
Fuel
Air
Spark
Timing
