The only problem I have with stock brackets is that after sitting in the heat the plastic will get weak and that's when I break off tabs or molds that hold the bolt in. For headlight brackets I had to fab up a generic aluminum plate that holds some of the headlights' weight to reduce strain on the inside and outer mounting points.
