Id prefer the solid design you are proposing vs he alutec which can pivot. I know its minimal but with strut tower bars chassis braces I prefer solid designs as every little bit of stiffness counts.

Isn't the Ultra brace only for hatches, not coupes. I'm pretty sure the floor pan is different in the rear.
