do i really need an IACV harness for a KA?

KA24DE vert. IACV is literally not hooked up in any way. on cold starts, the car hates idling. needs throttle to keep it at idle. after a few seconds on throttle, it'll idle just fine.

idle does drop when i turn on the headlights but i think that's a ground issue.
