If you buy it, and get full insurance coverage, they will replace it for free, with no raise on the premium.  I had it done on my old Corvette.  Just make sure the insurance company doesn't check the car out before they insure it.  Also, wait a while before you make the claim after it is insured, like a month.  Say a rock got kicked up and cracked the windshield.  Or ask the seller to get his insurance company to repair the crack.
