Right, they sent boats across the Atlantic to persecute people. My point was they weren't fleeing anything. Britain renounced its religious persecution in 1689, in fact the colonies themselves were much of a source of religious persecution with Puritans (and others) deeming some views incorrect, especially Quakers (
