I have a weird problem with my SR. It runs good off boost but as soon as I hit 4k it misfires badly. It also has a funky idle sometimes. It idles at around2100 sometimes. I think the idle is caused by my TPS but I dont know what would cause the problem after 4k, any help would be appreciated.

Alright dude i just had a similar problem. Mine was a bad cam angle sensor. If thats not it check boost leak or vacum leak and then run a compression test.

check coilpacks, thats what fixed mine, almost same exact prob, 4k grand and it was shitty, but if i turned my boost down enough it was fine.

How would I check the cam angle sensor other than replacing it and seeing if that fixes the problem? Also what cam angle sensor do I use, would the 91-94 Sentra SE-R one work?

I checked for boost leaks and vacuum leaks, I didnt find any. I checked coilpacks as well by pulling one by one while the car idled. Thanks for the help Ill check on that cam angle sensor. Im installing a new TPS to see if that fixes the idle and hopefully the problem after 4k but i doubt it.

i pulled mine one by one also but that didnt identify the problem, i changed in a new harness w/
coilpacks so i dont know exactly which one fixed it. also check that shitty ground behind the valve cover for the coilpacks.

Im not sure if this will fix your problem. I was having the same problem for about three weeks. I changed my spark plugs which didnt work. I did have a boost leak that I fixed. In the end it ended up being my timing. I adjusted it and now the problem is fixed.

I fixed the problem. It turned out to be the TPS. I installed a new one and adjusted it and it ran fine. When I first installed it my car ran like crap but then I adjusted it and runs like a champ. I didnt realize how much of a difference the TPS not being adjusted properly would make. Thanks for all the help.

TPS = Throttle Positioning Sensor.
Tells your ECU how far you or pushing down on the pedal.
