i know this is the wrong forum but can't seem to find any good answers anywhere else.
my friend has a 00 s2000 and he launched from red light and the car went three feet and started making a griding noise so he pulls over and tries to figure out the problem...
when he puts it in any gear it makes a griding noise from the diff housing. the car can be pushed in neutral and it makes a clinking noise every few rotation. he put the car on jack stands and can put it in any gear and the tires rotate freely but as soon as he hits the gas it starts griding.
he can ride the clutch but he can't touch the gas without it grinding. so the car barely moves in idle.
anyway if anyone has any idea what it could be we would appreciate it.
